Arkaya is identified as a Support-type Lancer in the Close Beta 2 overview, but the source description says he does not feel like a support character. Treat the role label as a classification, not evidence that he provides specific buffs, healing, or defensive effects.
Before choosing Arkaya to fill a support role, check his available skills and what they actually do in your version of the game. The supplied description does not explain his mechanics, so it cannot establish how he supports a team or whether he suits a particular party.
