To survive and grow as a juvenile in Path of Titans, finish all introductory tasks in the tutorial cave, prioritize local gathering quests in dense cover, and preserve your stamina bar to escape adult predators. Juveniles have low health, weak attack power, and slow base speeds, making direct combat fatal. Your primary focus must be steady questing and risk avoidance until you reach later growth stages.

Starting in the Tutorial Cave

Do not rush out of the tutorial cave. This instanced area is entirely safe from other players and teaches essential survival controls.

  1. Complete all initial cave objectives. Practice basic attack inputs, eat available food, and rest to restore your vitals.
  2. Collect your starting Marks. Completing these simple introductory tasks provides the currency needed to purchase abilities, hide upgrades, and skins later.
  3. Locate the exit stone. Touch the glowing cave exit stone to enter the public open-world map, such as Panjura or Gondwa.
  4. Scan before moving. As soon as you spawn into the world, do not sprint immediately. Look around from cover and confirm the immediate area is clear of predators.

Questing and Foraging for Early Growth

Growth progression comes from completing regional quests assigned automatically when you enter a named zone. Wandering across the map drains stamina and exposes you to roaming adults, so pick a secluded zone and complete localized loops.

  • Fungi, Nuts, and Pinecones: Gather these around large tree bases and dense forest canopies where overhead cover conceals you from view.
  • Succulents and Flowers: Collect these along cliffs and plains borders quickly, then retreat directly into brush.
  • Item Deliveries: When a quest requires carrying items to a cache or nest mound, observe the drop-off point from hiding before approaching. Other players frequently wait near delivery locations.

Managing Food and Water Safely

Dying to dehydration is a common early mistake. You must recognize safe water sources and protect yourself while drinking.

Water or Food SourceType and Risk LevelRequired Action
Inland LakesFresh water; high traffic riskDrink in short intervals during quiet periods; check treelines first.
Running RiversFresh water; moderate riskDrink from shallow bends where semi-aquatic predators cannot swim.
Ocean and Coastal InletsSalt water; fatal hazardNever drink. Consuming salt water causes rapid dehydration and health loss.
Bushes and Critter BurrowsFood; low to moderate riskHerbivores feed on berry bushes; carnivores hunt burrows or scavenge meat.

Drinking locks your dinosaur into an animation that lowers your field of view. Take small sips, step back into cover to check for movement or ripples, and finish drinking only when the shore is secure.

Stamina Conservation and Evasion Tactics

Your stamina pool is your only defense against adult dinosaurs. If you run out of stamina while being pursued, you cannot survive.

  • Trot for normal travel. Sprinting rapidly exhausts your stamina. Jog or trot to cover ground while keeping your stamina meter full for emergencies.
  • Use terrain to escape. If an adult attacks, sprint toward tight rock crevices, steep inclines, or thick brush where large dinosaur hitboxes cannot easily follow.
  • Crouch in dense foliage. Crouching muffles your footstep audio and hides your silhouette. If you hear heavy footsteps nearby, crouch in tall ferns or bushes and remain completely motionless until the threat passes.
  • Exploit turning radius. Juveniles turn much faster than large sub-adults and adults. Weave tightly around trees and break line of sight, then crouch and alter your heading to slip away unnoticed.
