To play the Skyshroud (Ikran) mod effectively in Path of Titans, maintain high altitude, time your aerial drops ahead of your target's movement, and reserve enough stamina to pull up into safe airspace. The creature functions as an airborne skirmisher designed for aerial bombardment rather than grounded brawling.

Core Flight Mechanics and Perching

The Skyshroud relies on elevation and forward momentum to stay alive. Its terrestrial speed and defensive stats cannot compete with ground carnivores, making open fields and dense forests dangerous places to linger.

  • Glide to Conserve Energy: Level gliding drains minimal stamina while letting you scout the ground below. Continuous climbing and sharp turning burn energy rapidly.
  • Make Wide Turns: Bank through gentle, sweeping turns to preserve forward velocity instead of forcing tight pivots that bleed momentum.
  • Land on High Ground: Rest only on elevated perches such as cliff edges, rock spires, or inaccessible outcroppings. Touching down in low-lying terrain leaves the flyer vulnerable to ambush.

Executing Aerial Bombing Runs

Deploying dropped payloads requires calculating forward momentum and planning a safe exit trajectory before descending. Because the Skyshroud drops attacks while moving at high speeds, payloads carry forward momentum along your flight path.

  1. Pick Stationary Targets: Focus on dinosaurs that are sitting, sleeping, drinking at riverbanks, or locked in combat animations.
  2. Align the Flight Path: Approach along the target's probable escape vector rather than approaching head-on within their direct field of vision.
  3. Release Ahead of the Target: Deploy the payload slightly before flying directly overhead so momentum carries the strike into the target.
  4. Pull Up Immediately: Angle into an immediate upward climb once the payload drops to clear the reach of tail sweeps and avoid crashing into the ground or tree canopy.

Crashing into terrain inflicts collision damage and leaves the flyer grounded within melee range. If an approach angle looks too steep or cluttered with obstacles, abort the run and circle back.

Stamina Consumption by Flight Phase

Stamina dictates your ability to disengage safely. Running completely out of stamina forces an uncontrolled descent, leading to heavy fall damage or an unintended landing in hostile territory.

Flight PhaseStamina CostPrimary Use
Level GlidingLowScouting terrain and maintaining altitude
Climbing AscentHighGaining vertical clearance before an attack
Bombing DiveModerateAccelerating downward toward a target
Recovery ClimbVery HighPulling up and breaking line of sight

Do not initiate an offensive dive if your stamina pool is below 50 percent. The pull-up maneuver and subsequent climb require substantial energy, and entering an attack with depleted stamina leaves no reserve to escape ground counterattacks or pursuing flyers.

Target Selection and Ground Hazards

Avoid diving directly into coordinated groups. Defensive packs often bait flyers into low descents, allowing grounded players to intercept the Skyshroud with leaping attacks or tail strikes at the lowest point of the dive.

Instead, orbit outside audio range and watch ongoing ground skirmishes. Strike isolated targets attempting to rest and heal, or hit heavy carnivores while they are committed to attack animations. Water sources provide reliable targets, as terrestrial dinosaurs cannot dodge quickly while locked in drinking animations.

Defense and Stamina Recovery

When threatened by rival flyers or recovering from an engagement, prioritize safe positioning:

  • Break Line of Sight: If pursued by aerial opponents, dive toward tree canopies or weave through narrow cliff passes to disrupt straight pursuit lines, then transition into a wide climbing turn.
  • Regenerate Stamina Safely: Land only on narrow rock ledges that walking dinosaurs cannot climb. Sit immediately upon landing to maximize stamina recovery rates.
  • Maintain Camera Awareness: Rotate your view 360 degrees while resting. If another creature approaches your perch, launch immediately—even on minimal stamina—and glide downward to build speed rather than fighting on the ground.
