To cook Ambrosia of Legends a la Cube in Pokémon Quest, put at least one Mystic Shell into your cooking pot alongside precious ingredients or Rainbow Matter. This dish is the only recipe capable of attracting the legendary roster: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, and Mew. Mystic Shells drop from boss encounters in Area 12 (Happenstance Island), meaning you cannot prepare this dish until reaching the post-game.
Ambrosia of Legends Recipe Formulas
The quality tier of Ambrosia of Legends depends on the ingredients placed in the remaining four pot slots. Higher quality tiers broaden your summon pool to include Mewtwo and Mew. A standard batch finishes brewing after four expedition turns, though you can spend PM Tickets to clear the wait timer immediately.
| Quality Level | Ingredient Formula | Target Attraction Pool |
|---|---|---|
| Good | 1 Mystic Shell + 4 Precious Ingredients (Balm Mushroom, Big Root, Icy Rock, or Honey) | Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres |
| Very Good | 1 Mystic Shell + 3 Precious Ingredients + 1 Rainbow Matter | Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo |
| Special | 1 Mystic Shell + 4 Rainbow Matter (or 2+ Mystic Shells with Precious Ingredients) | Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, Mew |
Choosing Between the Iron Pot and Gold Pot
Select your cooking pot based on whether your immediate priority is Pokédex completion or end-game combat strength:
- Iron Pot (15 total ingredients): Consumes three units per slot, requiring only three Mystic Shells per shell slot. Recruits arrive between level 15 and 25 without base stat bonuses. Use this pot if you have a limited supply of Mystic Shells and want to register entries or test move sets.
- Gold Pot (100 total ingredients): Consumes 20 units per slot, demanding 20 Mystic Shells per shell slot and 80 filler items. Recruits arrive between level 70 and 100. Pokémon cooked in a Gold Pot receive an exclusive, permanent stat bonus of +100 Base HP and +100 Base ATK that cannot be matched through level-up training. Save your ingredients for the Gold Pot when building a combat team for Chamber of Legends 12-Boss expeditions.
Evaluating New Legendary Recruits
Once a legendary Pokémon arrives at base camp, inspect its moves and slot layout before investing training resources:
- Move Slot Count: Prioritize a Pokémon with a single move slot and three attached Move Stone sockets. A single-move configuration lets you equip three supporting Move Stones—such as Broadburst, Wait Less, or Whack-Whack—maximizing skill uptime. Two-move splits limit support slots and reduce overall effectiveness.
- Target Move Pools: Check for primary moves suited to each species. Zapdos performs best with Thunder, Articuno with Blizzard, Moltres with Fire Blast, and Mewtwo with either Psychic for offense or Bulk Up for team-wide buffs. Mew possesses a varied move pool spanning multiple elemental types.
- Power Stone Sockets: Attackers such as Zapdos and Moltres require an ATK-heavy stone distribution (typically six or seven ATK sockets). Buffers like Mewtwo need at least four HP sockets to survive late-stage bosses. Equip stones providing Hit Healing (capped at 10%) and Critical Hit Rate to maintain survival during Area 12 waves.
- Bingo Bonuses: Look for bonuses that directly reduce move wait times or boost your Pokémon's native attack type (such as Fire Type Moves Wait -15% or Electric Attack +20%). Bingo Bonuses are fixed at recruitment and cannot be rerolled through training.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Pokémon Quest articles next.
This saved me time in the early game.
