To build a Level 100 Living Dex in Pokémon Quest, you must collect and maintain all 151 Pokémon simultaneously at level 100. Doing this requires cooking with the Gold Cooking Pot to minimize experience grinding, managing evolution thresholds before reaching the level cap, and expanding your base camp storage box.

Avoid the Level 100 Evolution Lockout

In Pokémon Quest, Pokémon only evolve when leveling up. Because level 100 is the hard cap, an unevolved Pokémon that reaches level 100 can never evolve.

Keep these rules in mind when cooking and training:

  • Single-Stage Pokémon and Base Forms: Pulling these at level 100 directly from the pot is the fastest outcome. Single-stage recruits like Farfetch'd, Kangaskhan, Lapras, and Mew require no training when recruited at level 100.
  • Evolved Forms: If you pull a level 100 unevolved recruit—such as Dratini, Abra, or Machop—it remains permanently locked in that base form. To register a level 100 final evolution like Dragonite or Alakazam, you must either cook the evolved form directly or recruit the pre-evolution at level 99 or lower to leave room for the required level-up evolution triggers.
  • The Everstone Toggle: Check the Pokémon management screen to confirm the Everstone toggle is switched off before applying training experience. Reaching level 100 with an Everstone active permanently locks that stage.

Cooking Pot Tiers and Instant Level 100 Pulls

Using the Gold Cooking Pot is the primary strategy for a Level 100 Living Dex. While its ingredient cost is high, recruiting Pokémon at levels 70 to 100 bypasses hundreds of thousands of EXP needed to raise low-tier recruits.

Cooking PotIngredient Cost per SlotPokémon Level RangeLiving Dex Utility
Brass Pot3 (15 total)Lv. 1–15Inefficient; requires massive EXP training.
Silver Pot10 (50 total)Lv. 40–70Viable fallback when ingredient supplies run low.
Gold Pot100 (500 total)Lv. 70–100Primary pot; provides instant Lv. 100 pulls.

For legendary and mythical Pokémon without evolution trees (Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo, and Mew), cook Ambrosia of Legends a la Cube in the Gold Pot using Mystic Shells. Any recruit that arrives at level 100 immediately completes that Living Dex slot with zero training.

Training Multi-Stage Evolutions

When the Gold Pot produces desirable base or mid-stage Pokémon between levels 90 and 98, save them to train into final evolutions.

To level these Pokémon without missing an evolution window:

  1. Calculate Remaining Evolutions: A three-stage line requires at least two level-ups. A Charmander recruited at level 97 can evolve into Charmeleon at 98, and into Charizard at 99 or 100. Do not apply EXP that skips past level-up evolution thresholds in a single batch.
  2. Use Failed Pulls as Training Fodder: Unwanted high-level common recruits from the Gold Pot should be fed into your Living Dex candidates via Level-Up Training. High-level fodder provides substantial EXP gains.
  3. Match Types and Species: Level-Up Training grants bonus EXP when the supporting fodder shares the trainee's type. Feeding the exact same species provides the highest multiplier.

Box Capacity and Ingredient Farming

A standard box cannot store a 151-Pokémon Living Dex. You need 200 to 250 Pokémon box slots: 151 slots to house the permanent level 100 collection, and 50 to 100 open slots to store incoming cooking recruits and training fodder. Expand your capacity by spending PM Tickets earned from daily logins and quest challenges.

To supply the 500 ingredients required per Gold Pot, farm Happenstance Island (World 12, stages 12-1 through 12-8). These stages offer the highest drop rates for Rainbow Matter and Mystic Shells. Clear these stages reliably on auto using a dedicated team equipped with Broadburst Stones, Sharing Stones, and a buffer running Bulk Up or Work Up.
