To clear the 60-minute Gale Cloud Title Challenge in Puzzle & Dragons, pair Himmel with Frieren as your leaders, equip the Mass Attack Badge, and build your team to counter Assist Void debuffs. The Mass Attack Badge removes the need to match five or more connected orbs to clear multi-target floors, allowing you to sweep encounters quickly with standard three-orb matches and save active skills for boss encounters.

Why the Mass Attack Badge Is Essential

In standard play, hitting every enemy on the board requires matching five or more linked orbs of an attacking attribute. Setting up five-match shapes consumes time, demands more board resources, and slows down turn execution during timed challenges.

The Mass Attack Badge alters this mechanic by converting all attacks into all-target strikes automatically.

MechanicStandard Team SetupMass Attack Badge Setup
Mob Floor ClearingDemands matching 5+ linked orbsAny 3-orb match attacks all targets
Orb EconomyRequires 5+ light orbs to hit the full waveConserves orbs by using only 3 to sweep
Matching SpeedRequires board planning for specific shapesFocuses directly on basic combos and speed

By eliminating the 5-orb requirement, you can sweep multi-spawn floors with standard combos. This preserves light orb-generating active skills for tougher single-target encounters later in the dungeon.

Overcoming the Assist Void Debuff

The primary failure point in the Gale Cloud Title Challenge is the Assist Void mechanic. When triggered, your team temporarily loses all stat increases, team HP awakenings, skill boosts, and hazard resistances granted by equipped weapon assists.

You can handle Assist Void through two distinct approaches:

  • L-Unlock Awakenings with Assist Void Recovery Latents: Equip sub-monsters that feature an L-Unlock awakening and the Assist Void Recovery latent awakening. Matching a five-orb L-shape in that monster’s attribute reduces the remaining duration of the debuff.
  • Unassisted Base Bulk: If you do not run clearing latents, your base cards must possess enough native HP and shielding to survive incoming hits while the debuff runs its course. Use Himmel’s defensive multipliers alongside active shields or heart-generating skills before crossing known Assist Void thresholds to avoid fatal preemptive attacks.

Sub-Monster Roles and Required Actives

Himmel provides durability and passive recovery, while Frieren provides offensive scaling. Your four sub-monster slots must cover essential utility to maintain momentum:

  • Looping Orb Generators: Run short-cooldown active skills (such as two-turn or three-turn systems) that generate light and heart orbs consistently to maintain damage multipliers and healing.
  • Damage and Attribute Absorption Void: Mid-dungeon spawns feature multi-turn absorption shields. Include an active skill that voids both damage and attribute absorption for at least two turns to prevent stalling against the clock.
  • Damage Cap Breaks: Endgame spawns have high effective health pools. Bring active skills that raise personal damage limits so your primary attackers can break through high-defense thresholds cleanly.

Dungeon Execution and Pacing

With 60 minutes on the clock, focus on steady matching rather than rushing moves.

  1. Floors 1–3 (Transformations and Early Sweeps): Use haste or delay assists on floor 1 to transform your leaders. Clear early minion waves using three-orb light matches enabled by the Mass Attack Badge.
  2. Floors 4–8 (Mid-Dungeon Obstacles): Activate your absorption void skills when shields appear. If an encounter applies Assist Void, clear the status with L-matches or stall using base defensive bulk before pushing the enemy below 50% HP.
  3. Floors 9–Boss (Final Execution): Chain your damage cap-break skills and light orb generators to push through boss shields, trigger Himmel's full multiplier every turn, and secure the Gale Cloud title.
