Before using a champion as food in RAID: Shadow Legends, check whether it could be useful to your roster or a future fusion. Start with Common and Uncommon champions; keep Rare and Epic champions until you have assessed their value.

Choose food without sacrificing useful champions

Food is a champion sacrificed to rank up another champion. The draft’s suggested starting point is to use Common and Uncommon champions as your main food source. It also advises leveling Uncommon champions to their maximum level and ranking them up to 3 stars before using them as fodder for 4- or 5-star rank-ups.

Do not automatically sacrifice Rare or Epic champions. Check whether a Rare might help in Faction Wars or a future fusion, and assess an Epic’s potential utility before using it. The draft specifically warns that some support champions may be useful for mid-game Clan Boss teams.

Practical rank-up checks

  1. Use Common and Uncommon champions as your primary food.
  2. Before using a Rare or Epic champion, check whether you need it for Faction Wars, a future fusion, or another roster role.
  3. If you choose to use an Uncommon as higher-rank fodder, level it to its maximum level and rank it up to 3 stars first.
