To cleanse your artifact inventory in RAID: Shadow Legends, sell all bottom-row gear featuring flat main stats, test borderline pieces only up to level 4 or 8 before committing Silver, and purge accessories that lack synergistic substats.

Prioritizing individual primary stats and substat rolls over complete set bonuses prevents wasted Silver and keeps your storage clear during heavy dungeon farming.

Bottom-Row Filtering: Main Stats to Sell

The fastest way to clear storage space is filtering the bottom three artifact slots—Gauntlets, Chestplates, and Boots. The top-row slots (Weapon, Helmet, and Shield) always possess fixed main stats (flat Attack, flat HP, and flat Defense, respectively). Bottom-row items roll from a pool of flat stats and percentage multipliers.

Flat HP, flat Attack, and flat Defense on bottom-row items scale poorly compared to percentage bonuses on fully ranked 6-star Champions.

Gear SlotAuto-Sell Primary StatsKeep-Worthy Primary Stats
GauntletsFlat HP, Flat ATK, Flat DEFCritical Rate, Critical Damage, HP%, DEF%
ChestplatesFlat HP, Flat ATK, Flat DEFHP%, DEF%, ATK%, Accuracy, Resistance
BootsFlat HP, Flat ATK, Flat DEFSpeed, HP%, DEF%, ATK%

The single exception applies to early progression: keep any pair of Boots with Speed as the primary stat, regardless of rank or rarity, until you farm reliable 5-star and 6-star replacements. Outside of that early bottleneck, immediately sell all bottom-row gear with flat HP, Attack, or Defense main stats.

The Level 4 and Level 8 Rolling Rule

Upgrading an unverified Epic or Legendary artifact straight to level 12 or 16 rapidly drains Silver reserves. Use a staged rolling method to confirm where substat upgrades land before spending heavy currency:

  1. Identify single-target pieces: Take an Epic or Legendary item that has one high-priority substat (such as Speed, Critical Rate, or Accuracy) alongside two mediocre substats.
  2. Roll to Level 4: If the first bonus roll lands on the desired substat, continue. If it misses and lands on an unusable flat stat, stop upgrading and sell the piece.
  3. Roll to Level 8: If the piece hit your target at level 4, upgrade it to level 8. If the second roll also hits the desired stat, keep the item for your active roster. If it misses, assess whether the piece still fits a secondary Champion role; if not, sell it immediately.

Selling an item at level 4 or level 8 recovers a portion of the minor upgrade investment, avoiding the steep Silver costs of levels 12 through 16.

Substat Synergy by Champion Archetype

A high-rarity item with scattered, mismatched substats is less valuable than an Epic piece with focused attributes. Filter remaining pieces by role requirements:

  • Damage Dealers: Look for artifacts combining Critical Rate, Critical Damage, Speed, and ATK% (or DEF%/HP% for defense- or health-scaling nukers). Sell pieces that split rolls across offensive stats and unrelated defensive flat stats.
  • Supports and Debuffers: Prioritize Speed, Accuracy, HP%, and DEF%. Accuracy is mandatory to land debuffs against dungeon bosses and Arena opponents, while Speed determines turn rotation. Sell defensive pieces that lack both Speed and survivability substats.

Accessory Management for Spider Drops

Accessories obtained from the Spider's Den are locked by faction and require specific substat combinations to justify inventory space:

  • Rings: Rings always feature flat HP, flat ATK, or flat DEF as their primary stat. Keep rings only if their substats feature matching percentage rolls (such as an ATK ring with ATK% substats, or a DEF ring with DEF% and HP%). Sell rings that roll purely flat substats.
  • Amulets: Keep Critical Damage amulets for damage dealers, and HP or DEF amulets for survivability builds. Sell flat Attack amulets.
  • Banners: Prioritize Accuracy banners with Speed substats for debuffers. Keep HP% or DEF% banners for specific survival builds, but sell any banner that completely lacks Accuracy, Resistance, or a Speed substat.
