To manage gear efficiently in RAID: Shadow Legends, sell bottom-row artifacts that feature flat primary stats, upgrade promising pieces only to level 4 or 8 checkpoints before committing to level 16, and prioritize individual stats over complete set bonuses.

The Bottom-Row Flat Stat Rule

Gloves, chestplates, and boots roll with either flat numeric primary stats (Flat HP, Flat ATK, Flat DEF) or percentage-based scaling (HP%, ATK%, DEF%). Because flat values do not scale with Champion rank and level, flat primary stats on these three slots become obsolete as your Champions reach rank 6 and level 60.

The primary exception is boots with flat Speed, which is a mandatory primary stat throughout the entire game. For gloves and chestplates, sell flat HP, DEF, and ATK items immediately, regardless of their rarity or substat rolls.

Early-Game Strategy: Prioritize Stats Over Sets

Early-game progression requires focusing on functional primary stats and core substats instead of forcing set bonuses. Forcing sets like Lifesteal, Offense, or Speed with mismatched flat stats weakens your team. A Champion using broken sets with Speed boots and percentage-based chestplates will consistently outperform one forced into full sets with flat attributes.

  • Artifact Rank: Keep usable 4-star gear as placeholders for Campaign and low-tier Dragon runs.
  • Target Substats: Look for Speed, Accuracy, and Crit Rate on top-row gear (Weapons, Helmets, Shields).
  • Upgrade Limits: Stop upgrading early gear at level 8 or level 12. Pushing early 4-star and 5-star gear to level 16 costs too much silver for temporary stats.

Mid-Game Strategy: Rolling Checkpoints

Mid-game accounts must eliminate 4-star artifacts entirely and upgrade 5-star and 6-star items using strict level checkpoints. Upgrading gear straight to level 16 consumes millions of silver. Instead, roll gear incrementally to see which substats improve:

  1. Roll to Level 4: Reveal or upgrade the first substat. If a piece misses its required stat (for example, rolling flat defense on an offensive piece), sell it immediately to recover silver.
  2. Roll to Level 8: A 5-star or 6-star Epic item must hit at least one desirable roll (Speed, Crit Rate, Accuracy, or a relevant percentage stat) by level 8 to justify further investment.
  3. Commit to Level 12 or 16: Only upgrade to level 12 or level 16 if the artifact lands multiple favorable rolls on high-priority stats.

End-Game and Ultra-End Game Filtering

Late-stage accounts must aggressively prune inventory space to maintain vault limits and hit high stat thresholds for advanced dungeons and Arena play.

  • Rarity Cutoffs: Sell 5-star Rare gear immediately. Sell 5-star Epic gear unless it already possesses high base Speed and rolls double or triple hits into Speed.
  • Substat Synergy: Keep artifacts only if the substats align with a specific role. Damage dealers require pairings of Crit Rate, Crit Damage, ATK%, and Speed. Debuffers require Accuracy and Speed.
  • Roll Thresholds: Sell items that do not achieve at least a double roll (x2) in their primary target substat by level 8. Ultra-end game filtering requires selling 6-star Legendary pieces that miss triple rolls (x3) on designated speed or damage stats.

Accessory Management

Accessories from the Spider's Den fill vault capacity quickly across individual factions. Filter rings, amulets, and banners using specific primary and secondary stat pairings:

  • Rings: Keep flat HP, DEF, or ATK rings only if they roll the matching percentage substat (such as an HP primary ring with an HP% substat roll). Sell rings with conflicting stats, such as an ATK primary ring with DEF% substats.
  • Amulets: Prioritize Crit Damage amulets for damage dealers, and HP or DEF amulets for defensive supports. Flat ATK, DEF, and HP amulets provide negligible returns and should be sold unless you lack alternative defensive options.
  • Banners: Keep Accuracy banners to meet the stat requirements for landing debuffs in high-level dungeons. Retain any banner with a native Speed substat, regardless of primary stat, and sell flat-stat banners that lack Speed or matching percentage substats.
