When approaching the Void Shard mercy threshold in RAID: Shadow Legends, stop opening shards in bulk on standard 2x events and save them for targeted Progressive Chance events. Because your Legendary odds climb rapidly after 200 dry pulls, pairing that mathematical guarantee with a focused rate-up pool gives you the best odds of securing a specific, high-impact Void Legendary.

How the Void Shard Mercy Mechanic Works

Under normal summoning conditions, a Void Shard offers a 0.5% chance to summon a Legendary champion and an 8% chance to summon an Epic champion. The Void Legendary mercy system activates only after opening 200 consecutive Void Shards without summoning a Legendary.

Beginning on shard 201, your Legendary rate increases by an additional 5.0% for every shard opened:

Void Pull CountBase Legendary RateEffective Shard Rate
Pulls 1–2000.5%0.5%
Pull 201+5.0% added5.5%
Pull 205+25.0% added25.5%
Pull 210+50.0% added50.5%
Pull 215+75.0% added75.5%
Pull 220+100.0% added100% (Guaranteed)

Pulling an Epic Void champion does not interrupt, pause, or reset your counter. Only summoning a Legendary champion resets the Void mercy counter back to zero.

Progressive Chance vs. 2x Summoning Events

While 2x summon boosts double the baseline Legendary rate from 0.5% to 1.0%, that boost provides little practical value once your mercy scaling is adding 10% to 50% or more per pull. Furthermore, pulling during a standard 2x event rolls against the entire, unweighted Void Legendary pool, leaving your summon entirely to chance.

Progressive Chance events do not raise the base Legendary drop rate, but they multiply the odds of getting a selected champion—such as Hekaton the Headless—by 15x to 25x once a Legendary roll occurs. Triggering mercy during a Progressive Chance event directs your near-guaranteed Legendary summon toward a specific roster need rather than a random vault guardian.

Tracking Your Shard Counter

Because Void Shards accumulate slowly from sources like Clan Boss chests, Doom Tower floors, and monthly quests, reaching 200 pulls often takes months of saving. A counting error can cause you to exhaust shards without reaching the accelerated odds.

  • PC Tracking: Third-party tools such as RSL Helper track exact shard counts by reading local client logs.
  • Manual Tracking: Mobile players must log each pull in a spreadsheet or external counter, noting whether an Epic or Rare appeared.
  • Shard Separation: Track Void Shards completely separate from Ancient, Primal, and Sacred shards, as every shard type maintains an independent mercy counter.

Pull Discipline Near the Threshold

Once your log passes 190 Void Shards without a Legendary, apply strict pull management:

  1. Switch to single pulls: Stop using the 10-shard summon button. A 10-pull that hits a Legendary on shard one or two forces the remaining eight or nine shards to roll against the reset 0.5% base rate.
  2. Stop immediately on gold: As soon as a Legendary appears, stop summoning. The counter resets to zero immediately whether the champion is the featured progressive target or an off-banner pull.
  3. Resume hoarding: Lock your new champion and resume saving Void Shards toward the next 200-pull cycle.
