Check your active quest log for pet rewards, then progress through the campaign. The supplied information does not identify a specific quest, stage, or other requirement that unlocks a pet.
The draft also says to look for a pet menu in the main lobby after the system becomes available. It does not establish the exact menu location or what unlocks access to it, so use the quest log and campaign progress as your next steps rather than relying on a particular stage or pet.

This guide answered the exact question I had.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Rogue Legend articles next.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This saved me time in the early game.
