To get power-ups in Royal Kingdom, match four or more tiles into specific shapes during a puzzle, or collect inventory boosters through area completion chests, active win streaks, and in-game events.
Creating power-ups directly on the puzzle board costs no resources. For tougher stages, stockpile reserve boosters from progression milestones so you do not have to spend coins in the shop.
Creating In-Stage Power-ups on the Board
Matching three identical tiles performs a standard clear. Aligning four or more tiles creates one of four distinct board power-ups:
- Rocket (Match 4 in a line): Formed horizontally or vertically. Activating a Rocket clears an entire row or column based on the direction the Rocket points.
- Propeller (Match 4 in a 2x2 square): Clears adjacent pieces upon activation, takes flight, and targets a key objective or isolated tile on the board.
- TNT (Match 5 in an L-shape or T-shape): Formed by intersecting lines. Detonating TNT triggers an explosion that clears obstacles within a multi-tile radius.
- Light Ball (Match 5 in a straight line): Swapping a Light Ball with an adjacent colored tile removes every tile of that color from the board.
Combining Adjacent Power-ups
Swapping two power-ups that sit next to each other creates an enhanced clearing effect. Whenever possible, align power-ups to combine them instead of detonating them individually.
| Power-up Combination | Effect | Primary Use |
|---|---|---|
| Rocket + Rocket | Clears one full row and one full column in a cross pattern. | Opening intersecting paths and corners. |
| TNT + Rocket | Clears three full rows and three full columns simultaneously. | Blasting through large, dense obstacle blocks. |
| Propeller + Rocket or TNT | Flies the explosive to a high-priority target before detonating. | Hitting boxed-in goals or distant blockers. |
| Light Ball + Any Power-up | Turns every tile matching the partner's color into that power-up, then triggers them. | Wiping out widespread objectives across the board. |
| Light Ball + Light Ball | Clears an entire layer off every tile across the entire puzzle board. | Stripping heavy armor or resetting difficult layouts. |
Earning Inventory Boosters and Tools
Inventory boosters exist outside the board grid and can be brought into levels or used during play without spending a turn. These include pre-stage spawns (such as starting Rockets or TNT) and tactical tools (such as Hammers).
You can acquire inventory boosters through several free progression channels:
- Stage and Area Completion Chests: Complete puzzle stages to earn stars and potions, then spend them on kingdom construction tasks. Completing facility milestones unlocks Stage Chests and Area Completion Chests that award bundled boosters, tools, and coins.
- Win Streaks: Winning consecutive stages places free bonus power-ups onto the board at the start of your next level. Maintaining a streak allows you to trigger combos on your very first move.
- Timed Quests and Stage Challenges: Limited-time events offer tiered milestones that reward booster packages upon completing set stage counts.
- Team Chests: Joining an active team lets you contribute to shared stage goals to earn periodic group chests.
- Daily Login Rewards: Checking in daily provides a calendar track of free consumable tools.
Conserving Coins and Reserve Tools
If your inventory runs out, boosters can be purchased directly from the in-game shop using coins earned from stages and bonus rooms. However, direct purchases carry a steep coin cost.
Avoid using inventory boosters on standard stages where basic tile matching is sufficient. Save reserve tools and pre-game boosters for Super Hard levels, Dark King encounters, or situations where one remaining obstacle would otherwise force you to spend 900 coins on extra moves.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
This helped me understand strategy much better.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
This saved me time in the early game.
