To finish an 11-minute Kuldra speedrun in RuneScape Dragonwilds following Patch 1.0.1, you must bypass all non-essential gathering, use wall friction to negate fall damage in the mid-chasm, leap off a fractured pillar to skip the inner gate, and aggressively flank Kuldra to burn through its phases. Patch 1.0.1 altered collision geometry across the route, eliminating release-day skips and requiring exact positioning along new terrain seams.

Route Split Benchmarks

Use these target split times to determine whether your pace supports an 11-minute finish:

Milestone SplitTarget PacePrimary Objective
Early Camp Exit01:30Clear the starting threshold with baseline weapons
Mid-Chasm Entry04:45Complete outer terrain descent without triggering resets
Inner Gate Skip07:15Land the pillar jump and breach the inner ring
Kuldra Arena Entry08:30Cross the fog wall with at least two healing items
Boss Defeat11:00–11:30Land the finishing blow on Kuldra

Traversal and Patch 1.0.1 Terrain Skips

The opening section requires immediate forward momentum. Path directly across the primary elevation ramps instead of navigating around enemy encampments. Pull hostile mobs directly behind your character model so their attack animations miss, and roll at the crest of inclines to preserve horizontal speed.

Once you reach the descent, execute the updated terrain skips:

  1. Mid-Chasm Friction Slide: Patch 1.0.1 removed the previous open-air drop zones. Hug the sheer rock face on the left wall during the descent. Sliding directly against these collision seams decelerates your fall speed, allowing you to hit the floor safely without triggering the hard-landing animation.
  2. Inner Gate Pillar Skip: The legacy mantle shortcut no longer functions. Approach the fractured pillar near the fortified gate at a 45-degree angle. Sprint-jump at the pillar's outer edge to catch an invisible collision ledge. This bypasses the fortified gate sequence entirely and saves over two minutes.

Missing the jump angle on the fractured pillar will cause you to slide down the rock face into a lethal drop or alert an elite patrol.

Loadout Constraints and Inventory Discipline

Every second spent opening chests or crafting invalidates an 11-minute pacing target. Keep your loadout minimal:

  • Primary Weapon: Equip a high-burst offensive weapon that deals heavy base damage without requiring lengthy buff ramp-up sequences.
  • Secondary Slots: Equip utility items that lower sprint stamina consumption or grant quick repositioning bursts.
  • Consumables: Limit your inventory to three or four rapid-use recovery items to offset fall damage taken during the descent.
  • Ground Loot: Ignore all mob drops, non-essential chests, and resource nodes.

Running without defensive armor makes you vulnerable to instant knockdowns. Bait enemy attacks early by stepping briefly into their aggro radius, then sprint through while their attack animations play out.

Kuldra Boss Tactics

Enter the arena by the 08:30 mark to leave roughly three minutes for the multi-phase fight.

Cross the fog wall and sprint directly toward Kuldra to bait its initial ground slam. Step aside during the windup and attack the vulnerable underbelly during the slam's prolonged recovery animation.

During phase changes and sweeping area-of-effect attacks, do not flee to the arena boundary. Backing away invites ranged attacks and wastes damage uptime. Instead, stick to Kuldra's flank and circle counter-clockwise. This movement path consistently clears the active hitbox of the boss's sweep. When Kuldra leaps toward the center of the arena, charge a heavy attack so it connects the moment the boss lands.

Reset Conditions

Restart your run immediately if any of these failure points occur:

  • Fatal Descent Fall: Missing the left-wall friction boundary during the mid-chasm drop causes instant death from fall damage.
  • Low Boss Consumables: Crossing the fog wall with fewer than two recovery charges leaves you unable to survive chip damage during Kuldra's final phase.
  • Late Gate Split: If your split timer exceeds 07:30 upon reaching the inner gate, reset the run. The remaining damage windows in the boss arena cannot make up for a 15-second deficit.
