Saints Row: The Third on PC is an open-world action game built around the rise of the Third Street Saints from a scrappy street gang into a powerful international brand. That success brings the Saints to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis controlled by the Syndicate, a trifecta of rival gangs that includes the gun-running Morningstar, the heavy-hitting Luchadores, and the cyber-criminal Deckers. Your role is to take the city back district by district, turning the Saints’ influence into control while building an increasingly extravagant criminal empire. The campaign’s structure combines a large urban sandbox with 47 madcap missions, letting you move between story-driven confrontations and optional activities that earn cash and respect. Rather than simply clearing one linear series of objectives, you establish a presence across Steelport by expanding a portfolio of cribs and “legit” businesses, then use that growing base to push the Syndicate out of its territory. The result is a progression loop centered on conquest, income, reputation, and increasingly outrageous ways to attack your opponents.

Steelport’s activities are designed to keep the action moving between major missions. You can tear through the streets in tanks and hover bikes, boost cars, base-jump across the city, or take part in Insurance Fraud, where the objective is to become a gravity-defying human pinball and generate cash and respect through spectacular collisions. Combat is equally focused on excess: enemies can be beaten into submission with outrageous weapons, while vehicles and special attacks turn ordinary encounters into deliberately absurd set pieces. Human cannonball cars and flamethrowing Genkimobiles give the drive-by a distinctly unconventional twist, and the complete package adds more than 30 weapons, vehicles, and costumes alongside the main game. The included DLC extends the same style into dedicated scenarios, including Professor Genki’s murderous Genkibowl VII, the sci-fi-themed Gangstas in Space, and the strange experiments of The Trouble With Clones. On PC, a larger display makes it easier to read the city and combat information at a glance, follow routes while navigating Steelport, and compare the activities or businesses competing for your attention without crowding the action. Keyboard-and-mouse controls also suit frequent movement between driving, aiming, weapon selection, and repeated traversal actions, giving you more direct control when switching weapons during a firefight or steering through chaotic vehicle sequences. If you want to bring someone into the mayhem, the entire game can be played online in co-op with a friend, making the campaign’s missions, city takeover, and outrageous side activities a shared effort. With its combination of district-by-district expansion, business and crib management, open-world exploration, competitive gang objectives, and deliberately excessive combat, the PC version presents Steelport as a sandbox where progress is measured as much by the territory and resources you claim as by the spectacle you create along the way.
