To clear Level 45 in Sand Blocks: Drop Puzzle, you must form continuous, uninterrupted horizontal bands of single-colored sand that touch both the left and right borders of the board. Falling blocks dissolve into loose granular sand upon contact with any surface, meaning unstable drops can easily scatter across existing piles and block lower rows.

Control Sand Flow and Establish Color Bands

A line clears only when matching sand connects the left and right walls simultaneously. Disconnected clusters in the middle of the board do not clear and quickly take up vertical space.

  • Anchor to the outer walls first: Drop matching colors along the left or right boundaries. The vertical wall prevents outward scatter, containing half of the sand's natural roll.
  • Bridge inward: Once an outer wall has a concentrated color base, use subsequent matching pieces to extend that color inward toward the center to meet sand arriving from the other side.
  • Avoid sandwiching colors: Never drop a layer of an unrelated color over an incomplete line. A covered color cannot clear until every layer of sand resting on top of it is removed first.
  • Let grains settle naturally: Allow rolling sand to fill natural valleys rather than forcing pieces into narrow gaps where loose grains cannot settle evenly.

Prevent Center Peaks and Top-Outs

The main risk on Level 45 is building a central pyramid that reaches the top boundary. Sand dropped into the middle of the pit tends to form a steep mound, which forces future drops to roll uncontrollably toward the sides and mix colors.

When a mound begins to form, watch the piece queue for flat, horizontal polyominos. Rotate the block horizontally and drop it directly onto the peak of the hill. The broad impact suppresses the crest and pushes sand outward into lower side valleys. If the center column approaches the upper danger line, pause attempts to build multi-line combinations and immediately place pieces into the lowest available side columns to regain vertical headroom.

Rotate Multi-Colored Blocks

Level 45 frequently introduces shapes made of two contrasting colors. You must rotate these blocks to keep unwanted grains from contaminating active clearing lanes.

Block OrientationBest Use CasePrimary Risk Factor
Horizontal AlignmentSpreading sand across broad, low valleys to finish nearly complete lines.Scatters conflicting colors across multiple columns.
Vertical AlignmentFunneling a single color into a narrow border lane or deep gap.Builds steep peaks that cause rolling sand to spill sideways.
Wall-Pressed DropTrapping an unusable secondary color against an outer boundary.Blocks wall-to-wall contact for any unfinished lines below it.

If an incoming block has one color you need and one you do not, rotate the piece so the necessary color lands on your active clearing row. Direct the secondary color toward an isolated outer edge or corner rather than letting it scatter across the center.

Turn Order for Each Drop

Follow this sequence for every piece on Level 45 to avoid accidental top-outs:

  1. Check the preview queue: Look at the active piece and the on-deck shape to decide where both colors should go before placing the first.
  2. Scan the lowest incomplete line: Find the lowest row closest to touching both sidewalls and identify the missing color segment.
  3. Rotate to isolate useful colors: Turn the shape so the matching color targets the low row while unneeded segments face the outer perimeter.
  4. Deploy the block: Drop the piece above your target landing zone.
  5. Wait for the slide to finish: Let all sand grains settle completely and confirm row clears before dropping the next piece.
