Your flagship is the center of that progression. You can customize its flag, Figurehead, and armaments, shaping both its appearance and the way you approach encounters. Building your cabin adds another layer to developing your life aboard the ship, while assembling a fleet and recruiting noble pirates gives you the personnel needed for longer adventures. The central loop is straightforward but broad: explore the Devil’s Sea, collect valuable finds, improve your ship and heroes, then take on more dangerous opponents and objectives. Sea battles can put you against rival pirates, the navy, or unpredictable sea monsters, and victory can help you seize ports, sentry towers, and passes. Treasure quests add a different kind of objective, asking you to decipher cryptic maps and pursue hidden riches rather than relying only on direct confrontation.

Combat and hero development give the game a more deliberate strategic side. In Hero Trials, you assemble your Hero team and tactically command your assaults as you advance through levels.
