To win early matches in SIEGE: World War II, maintain a low average Supply cost, fight defensively under your own bunker fire, and counter-attack the moment your opponent expends their Supply on an unsuccessful push. In Tier 1 and Tier 2, card pools consist largely of basic infantry squads, light scout vehicles, and low-cost tactical call-ins. Managing your Supply bar and positioning units correctly around defensive structures will decide most matches.

Core Deck Composition for Tier 1 and Tier 2

A reliable early-tier deck consists of four to five troop cards and three to four tactical support cards. Running expensive armor or heavy bombardments in early tiers causes dead draws and leaves your base open to fast infantry pushes.

Your troop lineup needs three functions: screening, anti-vehicle defense, and bunker assaults. Tactical slots must provide immediate answers to swarms or emergency vehicle breakthroughs.

Frontline Positioning and Defensive Trades

Infantry trades determine the pace of early matches. Deploying squads directly into the open lane or onto the central bridge depletes Supply without providing a tactical advantage.

  1. Deploy behind your bunker line. Place basic screening units such as Riflemen slightly behind friendly bunkers so incoming enemies walk into combined fire from your squad and the bunker’s automated defenses.
  2. Hold your Supply. Avoid dumping resources to meet the enemy in neutral territory. Let the opposing units advance into range of your defensive structures before responding.
  3. Form an organic advance. Preserving troop health under friendly bunker cover allows surviving soldiers to march forward together, serving as the front line for your next push.

Countering Early Light Armor

Scout cars and light tanks bypass small-arms fire and deal heavy damage to unprotected structures. While dangerous, these vehicles demand a notable Supply investment, leaving opponents vulnerable if their vehicle push fails.

  • Bait vehicle targeting: Never deploy standard rifle squads directly in front of incoming armor. Place Bazooka or rocket infantry off-center or behind friendly fortifications. Let the vehicle lock onto a bunker or a cheap frontline squad before opening fire with anti-tank units.
  • Strip infantry screens: If an enemy vehicle arrives with foot soldiers, remove the escort first with an area-of-effect tactical card. Once the vehicle loses its infantry cover, deploy anti-tank squads to finish it off unobstructed.

Timing Tactical Support Cards

Tactical cards should answer enemy commitments rather than open an engagement. Firing an artillery barrage or direct-damage strike at a single unit or an undamaged bunker wastes Supply and forfeits battlefield momentum.

  • Wait for troop clusters: Hold area-denial strikes until the opponent groups multiple squads into a single lane.
  • Lead your targets: Artillery shells have travel time. Aim slightly ahead of moving infantry near choke points, such as bridge exits or narrow crossings, so the strike lands directly on the formation.
  • Exploit the Supply gap: Wiping out two or three opposing squads with a single tactic leaves the enemy with empty Supply, giving you an opening to push.

Converting Defensive Stops into Counter-Pushes

The transition from defense to offense decides matches in Tier 1 and Tier 2. Once an enemy wave is cleared using bunker fire and efficient tactical removal, you hold the Supply advantage. Do not wait for your Supply bar to completely refill.

Immediately reinforce your surviving frontline soldiers with fast-moving SMG squads or assault troops. Because the opponent spent their Supply on the failed attack, your reinforced push can reach their bunker with minimal resistance. Retain one tactical card or emergency defensive card to eliminate any last-second squads the enemy deploys at their bunker gates.
