To participate in the Days of Mischief event and collect its limited-time cosmetic rewards in Sky: Children of the Light, players must enter the Cackling Crab event zone inside the Vault of Knowledge and gather daily event tickets scattered throughout the cavern.
How to Access the Cackling Crab
You do not need a Founder's Cape to enter the event grounds. A guide spirit stationed outside the Office barrier escorts all players through for free.
- Enter the Vault of Knowledge and turn around immediately to face the back-left wall of the entry hallway.
- Walk through the concealed passage behind the wall to reach the Office exterior barrier.
- Approach the friendly event spirit standing outside the golden gate, accept their hand, and let them pull you through the barrier.
- Walk across the courtyard and enter the main Office building.
- Move past the central conference room into the dark hallway corridor.
- Step through the gloomy doorway at the end of the hall to load into the Cackling Crab subterranean cavern.
Daily Event Ticket Locations
Event tickets serve as the primary currency for newly introduced Days of Mischief cosmetics. Each daily reset deposits a fresh batch of tickets inside the Cackling Crab cavern. A complete daily sweep takes five to ten minutes across four primary spots:
| Ticket Location | Where to Look | Collection Method |
|---|---|---|
| Upper Spiderwebs | Silk platforms near the cavern ceiling | Fly along the silk scaffolding; melt enclosing webs with your candle if covered. |
| Cauldron Perimeter | The stone lip and ingredient piles flanking the vat | Walk along the rim of the main brewing pot on the central platform. |
| Lower Tunnels & Cells | Passages and holding pens beneath the main floor | Drop down into the side tunnels and search the shadowy corners. |
| Interactive Event | Cauldron or specific room contraptions | Complete a daily mini-game, such as flipping a lever or watching an eruption. |
If you miss daily spawns, the event spirit sells backup tickets for standard Candles or Ascended Candles. However, gathering the free daily spawns avoids depleting your regular Candle reserves.
Cauldron Activities and Light Farming
The giant cauldron in the center of the cavern produces Light and temporary status effects:
- Triggering Cauldron Eruptions: Dark plants sprout along the rim of the vat. Burning these plants feeds the mixture, causing the cauldron to bubble over and spray collectible Light orbs across the surrounding floor.
- Mischief Spells: Vapor from the cauldron can temporarily turn your character into a dark crab, grant glowing red eyes, or alter flight physics. These effects wear off automatically after several minutes, or you can dispel them immediately by standing in the clean light pools near the merchant spirits.
Dealing with Crabs and the Dark Cat
Two environmental hazards can disrupt your movement while exploring the cavern:
- Hostile Crabs: Red-eyed crabs patrol the lower tunnels and floor. Charge a Deep Call to flip them onto their backs before collecting tickets or Light in their territory.
- The Dark Cat: This large creature stalks specific zones of the arena. If its eyes lock onto you, break line of sight immediately behind stone pillars, alcoves, or hanging web curtains to avoid its pounce.
Spending Strategy
Focus your daily event tickets on newly released cosmetics from the event spirit's tree first, as older legacy items rely on standard Candle and Heart costs. Before purchasing any item, visit the spell shop counter inside the cavern to collect free weekly trial spells. These trials allow you to test capes, outfits, and props before spending your accumulated tickets.
