To defeat Fang Monarch Adan in Solo Leveling:Arise, equip Wind-attribute weapons and Break skills, deplete his Break gauge to strip his hyper armor, and evade inward during his multi-slash attack chains to punish his recovery frames.

Adan's fast gap-closers and aggressive attack cadence severely punish long casting animations. Tailor Sung Jinwoo's build around fast-executing skills, invulnerability frames, and mobility:

  • Primary Skills: Equip rapid abilities such as Armor Break or Death's Dance, slotted with Wind or Break runes to chip away at the boss's gauge safely.
  • Weapons: Choose Wind-element weapons and swift ranged physical burst options. Avoid weapons with prolonged, stationary attack strings unless Adan is actively staggered.
  • Blessing Stones: Select stones that boost stamina recovery, reduce dash cooldowns, or grant bonus attack power following an Extreme Evasion.

Hunter Team Roles

Bring support Hunters who can strip shields quickly, amplify burst damage, and mitigate bleed pressure.

Call your Breaker Hunter immediately at the start of the fight to speed up the first knockdown. Save your damage buffer and defense-reducing skills until the Break meter is completely empty.

Evading Attack Telegraphs

Adan’s attacks apply cumulative laceration debuffs that inflict heavy bleed damage over time. Watch for these visual cues to trigger Extreme Evasions:

  • Linear Claw Dash: Adan crouches and his eyes glow red before he sprints across the arena. Wait for his forward acceleration to begin before dodging to activate Shadow Step reliably.
  • Three-Hit Claw Flurry: Adan delivers two wide horizontal swipes followed by an overhead slam. Instead of retreating, dodge inward toward his hip during the combo. This places you directly behind him and avoids the downward finisher.
  • Spinning Whirlwind: Adan coils tightly and executes a 360-degree area slash. Back away immediately or use an ability with invulnerability frames to avoid burning multiple dash charges.

Managing the Break Gauge and Stagger Windows

While Adan's Break gauge is active, he possesses high damage reduction and hyper armor, preventing interrupts. Depleting this gauge is your primary offensive milestone.

  1. Deplete the Meter: Rotate Jinwoo's Break skills alongside Breaker Hunter assists off cooldown.
  2. Hold Burst Skills: Do not cast high-cooldown Ultimate Skills or full weapon rotations while his shield remains intact.
  3. Execute the Knockdown Window: Once the gauge breaks, Adan falls into an extended stagger. Cast defense debuffs, trigger your Ultimate Skill, and unleash your heaviest damage combinations before he recovers.

Surviving the Enraged Bloodthirst Phase

When Adan’s health drops into his lower thresholds, his attack speed increases, and he gains an arena-wide leaping ambush:

  • Leaping Ambush: Adan disappears from the arena floor. Pan your camera upward and sprint in a wide arc. A red targeting circle will expand beneath your hunter; wait for the circle to solidify, then dash immediately to evade the downward slam. Getting caught pins your character and inflicts severe multi-hit damage.
  • Bleed Stacks: Monitor your status bar. If laceration builds beyond three stacks, back away from melee range. Deploy your sustain Hunter's shield or heal, and allow the bleed duration to expire before resuming close-range combat.
