Not every high-tier or unusual drop in Soul Knight benefits your build. Several weapons carry hidden hazards—such as self-inflicted damage, uncontrollable movement, or extreme gold costs—that easily ruin standard and Badass runs. Unless you have the exact buffs or characters needed to neutralize their drawbacks, leave these six weapons on the floor.
| Trap Weapon | Primary Hazard | Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
| Void Sword | Suction pulls dangerous elites directly into your hitbox | Leave behind or reforge unless using invulnerability skills |
| Super Buddy | Blast leaves a lingering toxic cloud that damages you | Skip unless you possess the Poison Immunity buff |
| Agitated Trunk | Sprint momentum removes cornering and fine dodge control | Swap for a controlled ranged or defensive weapon |
| Groundwater | Costs 300+ shop gold for mediocre non-macro damage | Never buy from dungeon shops; save gold for buffs/heals |
| Breath of Hades | Drains red health down to 1 HP once energy runs dry | Avoid unless using dedicated lifesteal or healing setups |
| Death Note | Completely ineffective against floor bosses | Swap before entering stage 1-5, 2-5, or 3-5 boss rooms |
Void Sword
The Void Sword charges up a gravitational pull that drags nearby monsters directly toward your hero before delivering a melee strike. Pulling enemies close introduces severe risks:
- Collision Damage: High-tier and Badass elites deal substantial contact damage that can break your shield instantly.
- Point-Blank Bursts: Trapped shotgun and spread-shot enemies fire undodgeable volleys directly into your character model.
- Suicide Detonations: Volatile enemies, including explosive miners and spiders, detonate on top of you when pulled.
Unless you are running temporary invulnerability skills like Paladin’s Energy Shield or Rogue’s Dodge, skip the Void Sword in favor of standard defensive melee weapons that safely deflect incoming fire.
Super Buddy
Super Buddy fires a single-use nuclear rocket that wipes out almost any normal room. However, the detonation leaves behind a dense green radiation cloud that persists for several seconds.
Without the Poison Buff (Immunity to poison and slow effects), entering this fallout ticks down your health pool within seconds. Enclosed rooms or closing barriers often force players into the cloud immediately after firing. Restrict Super Buddy to opening strikes on bosses, and never launch it in tight regular chambers without active poison immunity.
Agitated Trunk
Agitated Trunk turns your hero into a high-speed ram, dealing continuous contact damage along its charge path. While it conserves energy, the charge severely limits steering and cornering speed.
Once the charge begins, dodging sniper lasers, bullet hell spreads, and floor spikes becomes nearly impossible. Colliding with heavy boss models can also trap your character inside their hitboxes, causing rapid physical damage ticks. Reliable clears depend on precise micro-dodging, making the Trunk's lack of handling an unnecessary liability.
Groundwater
Groundwater frequently appears in dungeon shops with an inflated price tag exceeding 300 gold coins. Its exorbitant price is an external community easter egg rather than an indicator of superior base stats.
The weapon's fire rate scales strictly with how fast you physically tap the fire button. Without rapid-fire macros, an external controller, or jitter-clicking, its damage output mirrors a basic starter pistol. Purchasing it drains resources needed for vending machine potions, statue blessings, and trader armor upgrades. Pass on it whenever it appears for sale.
Breath of Hades
Breath of Hades launches large, room-clearing scythe waves. When your character runs out of energy, the weapon begins siphoning your actual red health bar, draining you down to a single hit point.
Surviving at 1 HP leaves no safety buffer against stray burn effects, environmental explosive barrels, or poison pools. Do not run Breath of Hades unless your build includes consistent recovery loops, such as Priest abilities, Vampire passives, or reliable lifesteal buffs.
Death Note
Death Note instantly executes standard dungeon mobs regardless of their maximum health. Its limitation appears on every x-5 floor: the book cannot execute dungeon bosses.
Relying on Death Note as your primary clear tool leaves you without an effective offensive weapon during extended boss battles. If you carry Death Note through regular floors, ensure your secondary slot contains a sustained single-target weapon, or trade the book for dedicated boss DPS before stepping through the portal to stages 1-5, 2-5, and 3-5.
