To unlock The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, you must clear all five tiers of his Journey Guide event using five specific characters at seven stars: The Mandalorian, Greef Karga, Cara Dune, IG-11, and Kuiil. Because the combat tuning is forgiving, you do not need Zeta materials or high Relic levels; a squad built to Gear 8 or Gear 9 with appropriate mods and Omega abilities can clear every stage.

Required Characters and Investment Thresholds

Unlike introductory legendary events with lower star thresholds, you cannot unlock The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) until all five prerequisite units reach seven stars.

IG-11Scoundrel / Droid TankHard Light SideGear 8–9
KuiilScoundrel / SupportHard Dark Side, Cantina BattlesGear 8–9

Taking these characters past Gear 9 is unnecessary for the unlock event itself. Kuiil and IG-11 provide high baseline survivability through shared bonus protection and passive taunting, keeping the lower-geared Bounty Hunters alive through heavy incoming fire.

Modding and Turn Order Setup

Zeta abilities are optional for this event and can be saved for other squads. Instead, invest Omega materials into essential survivability and dispel abilities, and configure character speeds and stats to control the turn flow:

  • Kuiil (Fastest Turn Meter Engine): Equip Speed sets with high flat Speed secondaries so Kuiil acts first. His opening special grants Turn Meter and stat increases across the squad.
  • IG-11 (Maximum Health Tank): Use three Health sets with Health primary stats on the arrow, circle, and cross. IG-11 automatically taunts, counters, and assists; a larger health pool directly enhances Kuiil's recovery mechanics.
  • The Mandalorian (Burst Damage): Mod with Critical Chance and Critical Damage sets to maximize single-target damage against heavily armored Empire targets.
  • Greef Karga (Speed and Cleansing): Focus on Speed and Potency to cycle his mass assist and team cleanse quickly.
  • Cara Dune (Crowd Control): Equip Potency and defensive stats to ensure her area-of-effect (AoE) attack reliably stuns and removes Turn Meter from Empire and Imperial Trooper enemies.

Tier-by-Tier Encounter Strategy

The Journey Guide splits the roster into themed skirmishes before uniting them in the final stages.

Tiers 1 and 2: Early Encounters

  • Tier 1 (Kuiil and IG-11): Open with Kuiil's stat boost so IG-11 assumes taunt duties immediately. Apply Stun with Kuiil's basic attack, and let IG-11's counterattacks absorb damage and clear out enemy raiders.
  • Tier 2 (The Mandalorian, Greef Karga, Cara Dune): Prioritize the highest damage-dealing mercenaries first. Cast Greef Karga's cleanse as soon as enemy debuffs land, and use Cara Dune's AoE to stagger enemy Turn Meters before focusing down targets with The Mandalorian's assists.

Tiers 3 and 4: Imperial Heavy Units

  • Tier 3 (Full Team): Focus fire on Death Troopers and Imperial Officers immediately. Death Troopers can apply Terminate, preventing character revives and destabilizing your frontline. Maintain IG-11's taunt while Cara Dune strips enemy buffs.
  • Tier 4 (Entrenched Gunners): Take down the supporting stormtroopers before attacking the central heavy gunner. Hold Greef Karga's assist call and Kuiil's heal until the enemy squad's defense buffs expire.

Tier 5: Moff Gideon

The final tier requires managing Moff Gideon alongside his elite Imperial guards.

  1. Defeat the Support Troopers First: Focus your initial damage on the Death Troopers and Incinerator Troopers to remove their dispels and offensive pressure.
  2. Handle Debuffs and Taunts: Let IG-11 absorb single-target hits, and use Cara Dune to disrupt enemy turns. If Gideon inflicts Daze or Armor Shred, immediately cleanse the squad with Greef Karga.
  3. Trigger Disintegrate: Land critical hits and assists to fulfill The Mandalorian's payout condition. Once unlocked, use his Disintegrate ability to instantly eliminate the strongest remaining Imperial reinforcement.
  4. Finish Moff Gideon: With the supporting forces down, direct all remaining basic attacks and assist calls onto Gideon to strip his protection and finalize the unlock.

Next Steps After Unlocking

Once unlocked, The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) provides defensive utility through Scoundrel damage reflection, invulnerability windows using his "Wonder of the Force" buff, and single-target rocket burst damage.

Your next primary progression step is gearing him to support his ship:

  • He serves as the crew member for the Razor Crest, a key Bounty Hunter offensive vessel.
  • Developing his gear and abilities directly improves the Razor Crest's stats, which is required to optimize fleets built around the Executor Capital Ship in Fleet Arena.
