In Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes, Territory Battles (TB) and Territory Wars (TW) represent the two main guild game modes, each requiring a different operational approach. TB is a cooperative, multi-day PvE mode where your guild earns stars through combat missions, platoon requirements, and Galactic Power (GP) deployments. TW is a competitive guild-versus-guild PvP event where success depends on splitting your roster between defensive holds and offensive banner clears.

Core Differences Between TB and TW

Both modes award essential guild progression currencies, including Guild Event Tokens (GET), but they structure roster restrictions and objectives differently.

Territory Battles: Phase Execution Order

To earn the maximum number of stars across a map, guild members must execute phase actions in a specific sequence. Completing combat or deploying GP before filling platoons can lock out global guild bonuses.

  1. Review guild commands: Check in-game target banners or officer instructions to see which zones to focus on and which to hold.
  2. Assign platoon and operation units: Donate assigned characters and ships to open platoon slots first. These donations unlock zone abilities or disable map hazards in neighboring sectors.
  3. Fight special and combat missions: Run special missions first to secure rare currency or character shards, then complete standard combat waves.
  4. Deploy remaining roster GP: Deploy all remaining unused characters and ships into the designated sector. Even level-one or ungeared units contribute their raw GP value to the star threshold.

Territory Wars: Roster Splitting and Attack Discipline

Territory Wars match guilds by active matchmaking GP. Committing all of your top squads to defense leaves insufficient firepower to clear enemy sectors, while setting weak defenses allows the opposing guild an easy path to your back zones.

Defensive Roster Allocation

Coordinate with guild officers during the setup phase to fill defensive walls according to your guild's blueprint:

  • Defensive anchors: Set high-synergy squads that force timeouts or require difficult counter compositions.
  • Offensive squads: Reserve versatile, high-damage teams capable of full-protection clears and countering common defensive lineups.
  • Cleanup teams: Keep mid-tier squads available to eliminate lone survivors or finish weakened enemy teams without wasting a prime offensive squad.

Attack Phase Discipline

When the 24-hour attack phase opens, banner efficiency determines the winner. Victories grant more points for finishing with surviving units, full health, and full protection.

  • Inspect targets before engaging: Check enemy speed, mod sets, and unique zeta abilities before committing an offensive squad.
  • Avoid turn-meter preloading: If your squad fails a battle and dies, the remaining enemy units retain their loaded turn meter. This makes subsequent cleanup attempts much harder for guildmates.
  • Manage failed attempts: If a battle goes wrong, forfeit immediately if guild rules allow it, or notify guild chat so an appropriate cleanup squad can reset the encounter.

Guild Event Store Spending Priorities

Territory Battles and Territory Wars yield Guild Event Tokens (GET1 and GET2). To accelerate account growth, spend these limited currencies in the following order:

  • Exclusive character and ship unlocks: Spend GET1 on characters such as Hermit Yoda, Darth Malak, and General Skywalker. Spend GET2 on Capital Ship blueprints such as Negotiator and Malevolence. These units are locked behind these stores and are required for major legendary paths.
  • Targeted gear salvage: Divert tokens to high-tier gear salvage bottlenecks only after your primary GET-exclusive units and ships reach seven stars.
