The supplied draft says you need to reach level 15 and establish a strong Light Side or Dark Side alignment before choosing a Prestige Class. It then directs you to speak with Kreia aboard the Ebon Hawk. It does not give an exact alignment threshold, so it cannot establish precisely how much alignment is required.
What the draft says to do
- Reach level 15.
- Build toward a strong Light Side or Dark Side alignment.
- Speak with Kreia aboard the Ebon Hawk to access the Prestige Class choice.
The draft says the choice is irreversible, so decide which path you want before selecting a class. It does not provide enough detail to compare the available Prestige Classes or confirm any specific build for them.

This guide answered the exact question I had.
Good guide for Star Wars™: KOTOR II players. The strategy part was useful.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
This saved me time in the early game.
