To clear hidden dungeons safely in Takashi Ninja Warrior, isolate enemies one at a time by luring them backward into cleared corridors, and only attack after an opponent finishes their swing recovery. Rushing into subterranean chambers alerts multiple guards and ranged attackers simultaneously, quickly depleting your finite healing charges.

Control Aggro at Thresholds and Corridors

Enemy detection radiuses often overlap across chamber doorways. Stepping completely inside an uncleared room risks pulling shielded defenders, rapid dual-wielders, and ranged units all at once.

  1. Cross the doorway briefly: Take one or two steps past the threshold until the nearest patrolling guard reacts, then immediately roll backward into the cleared hallway.
  2. Engage in the choke point: Narrow passageways force pursuing enemies into linear attack paths, making lateral dodges and backward hops reliable.
  3. Reset if multiple targets follow: If two or more heavy guards chase you into a corridor, disengage and sprint back toward a secure area until their pursuit path breaks, resetting their positions.

Prioritize Targets in Multi-Enemy Chambers

When you must fight inside a larger chamber, target selection determines your survival. Rapid attackers and ranged units must die before you commit to slow, heavily armored targets.

  • Locate ranged units immediately: Check elevated platforms and far corners for archers or throwing units upon entering a room.
  • Eliminate rapid attackers first: Dual-blade fighters unleash multi-hit flurries that drain your stamina bar and prevent evasive rolls. Take them out before tackling heavy guards.
  • Circle the outer perimeter: Keep your back away from walls and move along the outside edge of the room so front-line enemies physically block the movement of units behind them.
  • Avoid wall collision: Maintain space between your character and dungeon walls to avoid getting trapped against geometry during an evasion roll.

Preserve Healing Resources

Because healing items are strictly limited between checkpoints, trading damage with dungeon enemies will end your run early. Do not commit to full attack combos against enemies who possess high poise.

Scout Blind Turns and Punish Heavy Attacks

Subterranean routes feature sharp turns and staircases where ambushing guards wait just beyond the camera's natural view. Before rounding any blind bend, pan the camera around the obstacle to check for stationary enemies. If the camera angle catches on dungeon geometry, roll past the opening rather than walking through; the roll carries you through any pre-emptive swings without taking damage. Use persistent visual markers—such as iron gates, lit torches, and broken urns—to keep your bearings when retreating.

When engaging heavy guards, do not attempt to stagger them during their startup frames, as their poise prevents attack interruptions. Instead, stand just outside their maximum weapon reach to bait their primary combo. The moment their final strike hits the ground, dash in, land two hits during their recovery animation, and immediately dodge backward to reset your spacing.
