TerraGenesis - Space Settlers on PC is an idle planet-building simulator about turning hostile, lifeless worlds into places where human civilization and living ecosystems can survive. Rooted in real NASA data, the game models changing planetary biospheres as you work through the long-term challenge of terraforming. Your role is part settlement planner, part resource manager, and part planetary scientist: choose one of four interstellar Factions, establish pressurized habitats for settlers, and gradually adjust the conditions that determine whether a world can support life. Air pressure, oxygen, sea levels, and biomass are not just background statistics; they are the central targets you must manage as you move a planet from desolation toward habitability. The idle structure means progress continues as your world develops, while the Stats Summary Page lets you check the planet’s current status and track how your decisions have changed its civilization and biosphere.

The core loop is a measured process of building, monitoring, and expanding. You can melt ice caps to create planet-wide oceans, seed worlds with life, and balance terrestrial and aquatic biospheres as conditions evolve. The Biosphere Simulator gives you 26 different phyla and 64 unique genes to work with, letting you shape the organisms that inhabit your new world rather than treating life as a single upgrade. That system adds a collection and management layer to the broader terraforming objective: your planet is not complete simply because one number improves, since its living systems also need to thrive. TerraGenesis offers a broad set of destinations for this work, including real planets such as Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars; orbital satellites such as The Moon and the moons of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; and fictional planets including Bacchus, Ragnarok, Pontus, Lethe, and Boreas. Dwarf planets such as Ceres, Pluto, Charon, Makemake, Eris, and Sedna provide additional settings, while the Trappist-1 planets and the Historical Earths campaign extend the game into alien worlds and different periods of planetary history. Randomly generated worlds add complete surface and elevation maps with unique starting conditions, giving the same management principles a different opening challenge.

Terraforming is not the only strategic pressure. On distant planets, you may encounter thriving alien civilizations and decide whether to make peace or conquer them. That choice shapes your alien strategy as you carry out dozens of missions and build your world around the consequences of your approach. Asteroid attacks create another form of crisis management: a planetary defense network can detect giant asteroids, after which you must initiate missions to destroy the threat, change its course, or develop a strategy for surviving an impact. Even Flat Earth mode, which can be switched on or off, changes the familiar framework with flat versions of existing worlds and hilarious random events. On PC, the larger display is especially useful when you are reading several planetary conditions at once in the Stats Summary Page, comparing air pressure, oxygen, sea levels, and biomass before committing to the next terraforming step. Keyboard-and-mouse input also suits the game’s deliberate management tasks: a mouse makes it easier to inspect a world’s surface and elevation map, select a destination from its many planet and moon options, and choose missions or planetary-defense responses, while the keyboard helps you move through repeated management actions without relying on touch controls.
