Each match is shaped by an automatically generated map, so the strategic problem changes from game to game rather than relying on one fixed battlefield. You can configure the environment as Dryland, Lake, Continents, Archipelago, or Water World, with each map type changing how you approach discovery, movement, expansion, and conflict. The game also offers three distinct modes. Perfection focuses on building the best civilization you can within its competitive structure, Domination centers the struggle for control, and Creative provides a different space for experimenting with the game’s systems. Single-player play is available offline, while multiplayer options include matchmaking with players around the world, local Pass & Play, and Mirror Matches that place you against an opponent using the same tribe.
