To win the 100 T-Cash grand prize in Township's Ruler of the Mine event, stockpile your mining tools before the event starts and activate the See the Light laboratory booster right before your first strike. The event awards milestone points for uncovering copper, silver, gold, and platinum ore veins. Preparing a full supply reserve and maintaining complete shaft visibility ensures you can reach the final reward tier in a single session without spending T-Cash on emergency tools.

Stockpile Requirements Before Starting

Entering Ruler of the Mine with an empty inventory will stall your progress during the steep, high-point final tiers. Build your reserve during normal gameplay by completing train deliveries, opening House of Luck chests, and ordering mining supplies from Raja the Dealer in the City Market using coins. Do not spend your tools on routine mining between events.

Aim for the following inventory counts before participating:

ToolRecommended ReservePrimary Tactical Role
Pickaxe350–500Opening direct vertical paths and collecting individual ore veins
Dynamite60–90Clearing full horizontal rows containing multiple ore deposits
TNT Barrel40–60Shattering dense rock formations and clearing multi-tile stone bottlenecks

If you are slightly short on pickaxes before or during the event, hire the market dealer with coins to purchase hourly batches. Avoid buying the emergency tool bundles offered directly inside the mine interface, as their high T-Cash costs will erase the profit margin of your 100 T-Cash reward.

Activate the See the Light Laboratory Booster

Craft and activate the See the Light booster in your town Laboratory before using any tools in the mine.

Under default mining conditions, the shaft below your active layer is shrouded in darkness, forcing you to waste pickaxes on empty dirt to find deposits. The See the Light booster makes all hidden tiles transparent, providing full visibility of every ore vein, gem pocket, artifact, and buried supply cache.

Full shaft visibility improves tool economy in three ways:

  • Direct Pathing: You can target the shortest path straight to high-value ore clusters while bypassing barren dirt columns.
  • Obstacle Avoidance: You can route around tough, multi-hit granite blocks that consume pickaxes without offering point rewards.
  • Free Resource Recovery: You can uncover hidden dynamite, pickaxes, and bomb crates tucked behind walls, replenishing your supply as you dig downward.

If your Laboratory lacks the gems required to activate See the Light, save your mining tools and wait until the next event rotation when the booster is available.

Mining Route and Explosive Tactics

With full visibility enabled, use an efficient descent strategy to conserve your tools:

  1. Prioritize vertical descent over horizontal clearing. Dig a narrow, direct corridor downward rather than clearing every tile on the screen. Descending rapidly exposes deeper, denser layers of ore for fewer tools spent.
  2. Collect only high-yield targets. Pick up ores that directly line your descent path or sit in dense clusters. Spending multiple pickaxes to reach an isolated copper block off to the side slows your progress.
  3. Use dynamite across dense rows. Place dynamite when two or more ore blocks appear on the same horizontal row to collect the points and clear the route with a single tool.
  4. Drop TNT at rock bottlenecks. Place TNT barrels where heavy stone clusters block downward movement to crack peripheral blocks and clear wide access routes.
  5. Trigger buried explosives. Hit unexploded dynamite or TNT barrels buried in the mine with a single pickaxe to detonate surrounding tiles at no extra resource cost.
