To win tactical encounters in Transformers: Eternal War, place high-durability units in the front row to absorb damage, set fragile damage dealers in the back, and save hero transformations to counter incoming heavy attacks.

Squad Deployment and Positioning

Unit placement dictates how your team absorbs damage and responds to incoming enemy waves:

• Front Line: Deploy high-health tank units in the front row. They draw enemy melee attacks and protect weaker squad members behind them.
• Back Line: Position glass-cannon damage dealers and long-range specialists behind your front line so they can fire continuously without taking direct hits.
• Scout Counters: When facing fast-moving scout enemies, spread your defensive units across multiple lanes to cover more ground.
• Grouped Pushes: When enemy forces push down a single lane, group your units together to block their advance and maximize area-of-effect (AoE) ability damage.

Reading the Combat Interface and Ability Timing

Your active command center sits at the bottom of the screen. Track hero portraits to monitor health status, available energy, and active cooldown timers.

• Target Selection: Watch the health bars positioned above enemy units. These bars change color when a target becomes vulnerable or is near defeat. Focus your basic attacks on these highlighted targets to remove immediate threats quickly.
• Ability Reservation: Avoid spending high-damage abilities on weak basic units as soon as their cooldowns finish. Save your strongest skills for elite targets or heavy pushes that threaten your backline.
• Energy Flow: If hero abilities sit off-cooldown for long periods, accelerate your attack pacing. If you are constantly waiting on energy, adjust your squad composition to include units that lower cooldowns or generate energy for the team.

Transformation Timing

Transformations grant temporary defensive buffs, boosted armor, or increased mobility. Because enemy AI targets active units with heavy burst attacks, improper timing can waste these defensive boosts.

Stagger your transformations across squad members rather than activating them all at once. Rotating through defensive states maintains a consistent front line throughout multi-wave engagements.
