To grow an heir in Vikingard, conceive children through companion dates, spend Heir Energy on cooldown to train their attributes, and arrange a marriage once they reach adulthood. Raising heirs converts daily companion interactions into permanent Might across your account while generating bonuses for your kingdom's resource yields.
---
1. Conceive Heirs with High Aptitude
Heirs are conceived randomly when spending stamina or date items on companions in the Companion quarters. An heir's baseline quality and stat ceiling depend entirely on that companion's Intimacy score at the moment of conception.
To avoid filling your nursery with low-potential heirs, concentrate gift items on one or two key companions rather than spreading resources evenly. Higher Intimacy thresholds unlock superior aptitude tiers:
| Aptitude Tier | Stat Ceiling | Energy Needed to Raise | Primary Account Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ordinary | Low | Low | Rapid marriage turnaround; minimal base Might |
| Exceptional | Moderate | Medium | Steady mid-game stats and balanced domain yields |
| Outstanding | High | High | Major Might contributor; high marriage priority |
| Legendary / Peerless | Highest | Very High | Maximum Might gains and competitive endgame pairings |
Managing Nursery Space
The nursery has a fixed number of cribs. If every crib is occupied, companions cannot conceive new heirs during dates. You can unlock additional cribs using Gold. Expanding crib capacity allows you to train multiple heirs simultaneously and prevents daily companion dating from stalling.

2. Educate Heirs to Build Attributes
Once an heir is placed in a crib, spend Heir Energy to educate them until they reach their level cap. Each education action grants experience toward the next growth level and increases stats across four domains:
- Military: Increases total combat strength and account Might.
- Agriculture: Increases food production yields.
- Commerce: Improves wealth generation.
- Mining: Enhances ore collection rates.
Companions have specific domain trait alignments. When you need a specific resource boost, prioritize dating companions whose traits correspond to that domain.
Managing Heir Energy
- Spend energy on cooldown: Heir Energy regenerates automatically over time. Log in throughout the day to empty each heir's energy bar before it caps out.
- Save Vitality Potions for events: Vitality Potions instantly refill an heir's energy bar. Stockpile these consumables for server events that award rewards for heir level-ups and attribute growth.
---
3. Graduate and Marry Adult Heirs
When an heir reaches their final growth level, they graduate from the nursery, receive an adult title, and move to the Heir Hall. Their individual stats are permanently locked upon graduation.
To gain additional Might from an adult heir, you must marry them to another player's heir of the exact same aptitude tier.
Might Calculation
A successful marriage combines the attributes of both heirs and applies alliance or union multipliers:
$$\text{Total Might Gained} = (\text{Your Heir's Attributes} + \text{Partner's Attributes}) \times \text{Union Modifiers}$$
Both players receive the resulting Might bonus permanently.
How to Propose a Marriage
You can arrange marriages through three channels:
- Alliance Chat: Post your heir directly to your alliance. Prioritize alliance marriages to ensure high-attribute bonuses stay within your team.
- Targeted Proposal: Enter a specific player's Heir ID to send a direct offer.
- Public Server Board: List the heir publicly for any compatible partner on the server.
When proposing or accepting public unions, check the partner's listed stats against the Silver or Gold cost. Never spend premium Gold dowries on low-attribute heirs when standard Silver proposals provide the same mechanic benefits for equivalent aptitude tiers.

Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
This saved me time in the early game.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
