Match identical tiles that are both available. If you can make more than one pair, consider which match may uncover tiles or open up more of the layout. Check both tiles before selecting them so you don’t waste a move on a blocked piece.
Check for a match
Scan the board for two identical tiles, including at the edges and corners. Before choosing a pair, confirm that neither tile is covered or blocked by neighboring tiles. If you don’t spot a match right away, look across the whole layout again rather than selecting tiles at random.
Choose between available pairs
When several pairs are playable, consider which one may reveal more tiles or help you reach pieces beneath a stack. The layout can affect which tiles a match uncovers, so check the board before deciding. Avoid assuming that a central or topmost pair is always the best choice; use the visible arrangement to judge what each move might open.
