To steal and hold the Crown in War and Order, an alliance must breach an entrenched Royal City garrison with tightly synchronized rally waves, instantly flood the empty structure with high-tier defensive infantry, and maintain continuous reinforcements until the occupation timer completes.
How a Crown Steal Works
The Crown Wars event centers on capturing and defending the Royal City at the middle of the realm map. Victory requires an alliance to hold the structure continuously until the countdown threshold is reached. Dislodging an occupying alliance resets or transfers control, creating the opportunity for a late-stage steal.
Executing a steal relies on timing your primary assault for when the defending alliance has depleted its march speedups, frontline infantry, or active reinforcement queues.
| Phase | Primary Objective | Required Alliance Action |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation & Harassment | Drain defender reserves | Intercept marching reinforcements and scout garrison depth |
| Coordinated Breach | Wipe the occupying garrison | Land multiple rallies from Castle Level 30+ leaders within seconds |
| Immediate Capture | Establish initial garrison | Dispatch pre-queued defensive infantry the moment ownership flips |
| Lockdown Defense | Hold against counter-rallies | Rotate reinforcement waves and target exposed enemy rally leaders |
Timing the Synchronized Rally Breach
Direct attacks against an entrenched Royal City fail if defender reinforcements arrive between your hits. To break a heavily defended garrison held by Castle Level 30+ players, rally leaders must land multiple attacks in rapid succession.
- Set Multiple Simultaneous Rallies: Coordinate two or three rally leaders to launch against the Royal City with staggered start times so their marches impact within a one- to two-second window.
- Break the Frontline First: The initial rally must strip the enemy meat shield of infantry and angels. Subsequent rallies hitting a second later can then directly target and wipe out vulnerable backline archers and mages.
- Cut Reinforcement Windows: Monitor incoming enemy march lines. When defender reinforcements are delayed by distance or exhausted queues, use march acceleration items to speed up your rallies and hit before reinforcements land.
Positioning and Reinforcement Lines
Proximity to the Royal City determines how quickly an alliance can reinforce an attack or backfill defenses.
- Black Soil Placement: High-level castles (Level 30+) and rally leaders must teleport onto the black soil zone encircling the Royal City. This positioning cuts march times down to seconds.
- Pre-Assigned Garrison Roles: Designate specific players to reinforce before the breach hits. The player whose rally lands the final blow becomes the initial holder, but the structure will sit under-defended unless supporting marches arrive immediately behind them.
- Frontline Reinforcement Composition: Reinforcing marches sent immediately upon capture must prioritize defensive infantry and angels. Offensive damage dealers cannot absorb incoming retaliation without an infantry screen.
- Teleport Rotations: Alliance members stationed on the inner black soil who exhaust their armies should use Advanced Teleports to move outward, freeing space for fresh, fully stocked alliance members to move in.
Defending the Royal City After Capture
Taking the Royal City triggers aggressive counter-rallies from the displaced alliance. Holding the throne requires strict garrison management and external pressure:
- Select an Optimized Garrison Captain: The player leading the defense inside the Royal City must equip gear, Colossi, and lord skills focused on defense and damage reduction.
- Filter Garrison Tiers: Low-tier units take up valuable garrison capacity. Alliance leaders must monitor the garrison screen and order players to recall lower-tier troops so high-tier infantry can fill the wall.
- Target Enemy Rally Leaders: Alliance members outside the Royal City should scout and rally the castles of enemy attack leaders while their armies are deployed. Burning their bases forces them to recall marches or split their attention.
Common Mistakes That Ruin a Crown Steal
- Unsynchronized Waves: Hitting the city with gaps between rallies lets the defending alliance reinforce and heal, wasting your troops.
- Filling Garrisons with Backline Units: Reinforcing with mages and archers without enough frontline infantry leaves the garrison defenseless against high-tier cavalry counterattacks.
- Neglecting March Speedups: Failing to use speedups when reinforcing leaves an opening for opposing players to snipe the throne back immediately.
- Ignoring Perimeter Base Defense: Leaving alliance castles unprotected on the black soil allows enemy strikers to zero your reinforcement engine while your alliance focuses entirely on the center.
