In War and Order, the SOS Lord skill in the War talent tree converts all casualties from your next solo offensive battle into wounded soldiers instead of permanently dead troops. At Castle 40 (C40), players leverage this mechanic to attack heavily fortified cities and multi-player garrisons during events like Void Wars or Crown Wars. To execute an SOS attack safely, you must ensure your open hospital capacity exceeds your march size, trigger the skill, launch your army, and chain march speed-ups to hit before the defense can react.

How the SOS Skill Works

Under standard combat rules, an attacker loses a heavy percentage of fallen soldiers as dead casualties when hitting an enemy castle. Activating SOS temporarily overrides this rule for your first solo combat engagement.

Risk ProfileHigh troop loss against stacked targetsMinimal permanent loss if hospital space is clear

The primary failure point of an SOS strike is hospital overflow. The skill routes fallen units directly into your Medical Tents. If your wounded army exceeds your total hospital bed limit, every excess soldier dies permanently. Before triggering the ability, heal any preexisting wounded units to guarantee your hospital capacity is completely clear.

C40 March Preparation

At Castle 40, your march size and high-tier units allow you to break reinforced targets, even in 1v3 scenarios where defenders pool their forces into a single bait city. Because troop preservation is handled by the skill, build your march for maximum damage output:

  • Infantry: Bring sufficient high-tier infantry to absorb the initial strikes from enemy wall defenses, traps, and front-row units so your backline remains protected during early combat rounds.
  • Mages and Archers: Maximize your ranged damage dealers to eliminate defender numbers as quickly as possible.
  • Beast and Colossus: Deploy your combat beast and colossus with active offensive skills enabled to punch through defensive lines before reinforcements arrive.

Step-by-Step Blitz Execution

Speed is critical when launching an SOS hit. If an enemy alliance spots a slow-moving march, defenders can reinforce the target or activate a Peace Shield.

  1. Clear Hospital Beds: Heal all wounded troops currently in your city so that 100% of your hospital capacity is available.
  2. Identify the Target: Select an enemy castle, such as an active bait city or a stacked reinforcement garrison during a kill event.
  3. Trigger SOS: Open your Lord Talents, go to the War tree, and activate SOS. Confirm that the skill buff is active before leaving the menu.
  4. Deploy the March: Select the target city, load your offensive march preset, and dispatch the attack.
  5. Chain March Speed-Ups: Immediately tap the active march line and use 25% or 50% March Speed-Ups consecutively to reduce travel time to zero. Hitting instantly prevents the enemy from coordinating reinforcements or shielding.
  6. Review the Battle Report: Check casualties and hospital capacity. If your hospitals did not overflow, your surviving army returns and fallen units can be safely healed with resources and healing speed-ups.

Key Limitations and Vulnerabilities

  • Single-Battle Limit: The SOS protection applies only to the first battle engagement after activation. If you launch a second march while the buff timer is running, that second march will suffer standard combat deaths.
  • Home City Defense: SOS does not protect your home castle. Opponents may track the origin of your speed march and launch counter-attacks while your main army is out or sitting in the hospital. Ensure your home city is protected by an active Peace Shield or strong remaining defenses before launching an aggressive hit.
