In Zero Immortal, spending real money directly buys Legendary Crests, Legendary Gem resonance, and gear awakening items. It does not buy standard gear drops or primary Combat Rating (CR). If you choose to spend, prioritize the Empowered Battle Pass and one-time milestone bundles, while focusing upgrades on 1-star or 2-star gems rather than chasing high-rank 5-star gems.
What Real Money Buys in Zero Immortal
The monetization system is concentrated in three connected mechanics:
1. Legendary Crests and Elder Rifts
Spending premium currency (Eternal Orbs) lets you buy Legendary Crests in bulk. Running an Elder Rift with 10 Legendary Crests loaded guarantees 10 Legendary Gem drops upon completion, bypassing weeks of farming. However, crests do not guarantee specific finished gems. While 5-star potential gems drop within mercy thresholds, their rolled quality varies randomly from 2/5 up to 5/5 stars.
2. Resonance Scaling
Resonance is derived exclusively from socketed Legendary Gems and provides a flat percentage multiplier to the base Life and Damage of your equipped primary gear:
- Attribute scaling: Low-to-moderate resonance provides double-digit percentage boosts, while top-tier spenders reach triple-digit attribute gains.
- Upgrade costs: Leveling a 5-star gem requires Gem Power (from salvaged gems) and duplicate copies of that specific gem.
- Star quality limits: A 2/5-star gem provides lower maximum resonance than a natural 4/5 or 5/5 gem. Upgrading 5-star gems without a massive budget leads to stalled progression once duplicate requirements spike.
3. Gear Awakening
Reaching Rank 10 on any Legendary Gem unlocks gear awakening for that equipment slot. Awakening requires a Dawning Echo, an item purchased exclusively with Eternal Orbs. Awakening a primary gear slot grants bonus resonance capacity and an immediate skill cooldown reduction or damage bonus.
Awakening a Rank 10 1-star gem provides the highest efficiency in the shop. A 1-star gem requires far less Gem Power to reach Rank 10 than a 5-star gem, giving you immediate access to the awakened skill perk without spending thousands of dollars.

Where Spending Matters: PvE vs. PvP
Your target game modes determine whether spending offers meaningful value.
- PvE (Dungeons, Raids, Open World): Progression is gated by Combat Rating (CR), not Resonance. CR comes from daily play, Paragon levels, Helliquary upgrades, and equipment drops. A free-to-play player can reach the same PvE difficulty tiers as a spender through regular farming.
- PvP (Battleground, Rite of Exile): PvP calculations heavily weight Resonance and secondary gems. The inflated Life and Damage stats from high resonance create massive advantages in combat, making spending the primary differentiator in competitive leaderboards.

Shop Spending Priorities
If you plan to spend, use this priority order to maximize the return on each dollar:
| Spending Category | Recommended Target | Primary Value Delivered |
|---|---|---|
| High Value (Low Spend) | Empowered Battle Pass, Boon of Plenty | Steady Legendary Crests, monthly crafting materials, daily gems |
| Medium Value (Milestone) | One-time Story and Hell difficulty bundles | Discounted crest-to-orb bundles unlocked by clearing progression checkpoints |
| Low Value (Bulk Spend) | Direct Eternal Orb purchases for 10-crest runs | Raw gem rolls, gem power accumulation, and Market Platinum conversion |
Start with the Empowered Battle Pass to establish baseline resource flow. If you want to invest further, purchase milestone bundles as you clear difficulty tiers. Avoid buying raw Eternal Orb bundles unless your explicit goal is bulk-running 10-crest Elder Rifts to feed high-rank 5-star gems for competitive PvP.
