To capture wild creatures and use their transformation abilities in Aniimo, stay outside a target's detection radius, use hotkeyed capture items when proximity alerts trigger, and link captured creatures to your character through the transformation interface.

Stealth Positioning and Approach

Catching wild Aniimo requires careful positioning to avoid triggering a flee response or combat state. Observing target patrol routes and managing your distance are essential prerequisites for successful capture attempts:

• Watch Detection Radius: Keep an eye on the distance proximity indicator. Remaining outside the creature's immediate detection bubble prevents it from becoming hostile or fleeing before you can engage.
• Target Patrol Edges: Wait for the Aniimo to reach the outer boundaries of its movement path before initiating an attempt. Capturing targets at the edge of their patrol zones reduces line-of-sight interruptions and lowers the risk of aggressive nearby entities intervening.
• Avoid Chasing Fleeing Targets: If a creature detects you and runs away, do not pursue it. Fleeing creatures outpace standard player movement speed, wasting your stamina and resulting in a low success rate. Allow the creature to reset or despawn, then seek another target.

Executing Capture Attempts

Once you are in position, execute the capture interaction quickly to prevent the target from altering its state:

• Traversal and Mobility: Transformed forms offer specialized movement options, such as flight or enhanced swimming speed, allowing you to cross hazardous terrain and reach areas inaccessible to your base character model.
• Combat and Defensive Buffs: In addition to mobility, specific transformations grant temporary stat boosts, defensive buffs, or elemental resistances useful for surviving tough encounters.
• Resource Gauge Management: Transforming consumes a dedicated gauge that recharges over time or through interactions with specific environmental elements. Reserve your transformation gauge for obstacles or battles that require that creature's specific skill set.
• Cooldown Timers: Once a transformation expires, a cooldown period prevents immediate reactivation. Plan your traversal routes around these cooldown windows, reverting to your base character for standard travel and resource gathering while the timer resets.
