To capture wild creatures cleanly in Aniimo, approach targets while remaining crouched inside environmental cover, keep your movement quiet, and throw capture devices at their flank or rear. Stealth allows you to catch creatures before they become alerted or force you into resource-heavy combat encounters.

How to Approach Creatures Using Stealth

Approaching a target undetected relies on terrain cover and controlled movement speeds:

• Use Foliage for Cover: Move through tall grass and dense foliage clusters across the continent of Idyll. Remaining crouched within cover significantly shrinks a wild creature's detection field.
• Avoid Sprinting: Running triggers audio-visual noise that alerts nearby creatures even if you are outside their direct line of sight. Walk or crouch in short, controlled movement bursts when closing distance.
• Timing Movements: Observe wild creatures before stepping out of cover. Advance while the creature is stationary or patrolling away from your position, and pause if it turns toward you.

Managing Awareness Indicators

Aniimo provides real-time detection feedback through an awareness gauge displayed above a wild creature's head.

1. Watch the Indicator: As you enter a creature's vision cone or make excessive movement noise, the head gauge begins to fill.
2. React Immediately: If the gauge starts filling, immediately stop moving, crouch, or fall back into nearby brush.
3. Prevent Alert States: If the meter fills completely, the creature enters an alert state, making capture attempts far more difficult or causing the target to flee entirely.

Angles and Device Readiness

Spatial positioning determines your capture efficiency. Creatures are most reactive within their forward vision cone, making front-facing capture attempts unreliable.

• Flank or Approach from Behind: Circle around your target to aim from its sides or back, where reaction times are slower.
• Ready Devices Before Exiting Cover: Select and prime your capture device while still concealed. Execute the throw directly from cover to minimize the time you spend exposed in the open.

When to Switch to Direct Combat
