To maximize your energy efficiency in Bit Heroes Quest, run the highest difficulty—ideally Heroic—that your party can complete without wiping. Heroic provides the best item drop rates, experience yield, and familiar persuasion chances per point of energy spent. Because a failed dungeon forfeits all spent energy along with completion rewards, step down to Hard or Normal whenever you enter an unfamiliar zone or risk dying.

How to Choose Difficulty and Pathing

Your dungeon route and difficulty setting depend on whether you are unlocking new zones or farming resources.

  • Zone Flag Progression: When your goal is unlocking the next area, choose Normal or Hard difficulty. Path directly to the boss tile along the shortest route, engaging only the mandatory enemy packs that block your way. Skipping optional battles preserves your team's health pool and skill points for the boss.
  • Farming Gear, Materials, and Familiars: Once a zone is cleared, switch to Heroic difficulty and full-clear the map. Every mob tile rolls separate chances for gear drops, crafting components, and familiar persuasion prompts. Skipping packs during farming runs wastes the energy spent to enter the dungeon.

Managing Shrines and Chests

Interactive tiles on the dungeon floor help stabilize difficult runs:

  • Shrines: Shrines grant temporary party buffs, including attack power, health regeneration, movement speed, or damage reflection. Route through visible shrines before engaging elite packs or the dungeon boss, especially when your total stats are near the minimum threshold for that zone.
  • Chests: Wooden, silver, and locked chests scale their rewards according to the chosen dungeon difficulty. Always detour to pick up chests during farming runs. If your squad is low on health during a progression clear, skip optional chest branches to ensure you survive the boss encounter.

Handling Familiar Persuasion and Gold

Defeating enemy packs gives a small chance to trigger a persuasion prompt. You can attempt recruitment using gold for a modest success rate or gems for a guaranteed capture.

  • Maintain an emergency reserve of 10,000 to 20,000 gold before starting familiar farming runs so you never have to pass on a recruit attempt.
  • Spend gold on common, rare, and epic persuasion prompts.
  • Reserve gems exclusively for fusion-critical epic familiars or legendary encounters; never spend gems on common or uncommon recruits.
  • If your gold reserve runs out, step down to lower-energy Normal runs or complete daily events to rebuild your purse before returning to Heroic farming.

Controlling Skill Points in Boss Battles

Auto-battle frequently expends skill points (SP) on weak trash mobs, leaving your team drained before reaching the final encounter.

  1. Toggle auto-battle off during the mob fight immediately preceding the boss tile.
  2. Use standard basic attacks to finish off the remaining minions, naturally refilling your team's SP bar to maximum.
  3. Initiate the boss battle manually. Focus down dangerous backline minions and apply defensive shields during the first two rounds before re-engaging auto-battle.
