To beat Level 201 in Bus Fever! Car Jam Escape on your first try without using hints, route buses that immediately match the active front passenger colors and keep at least one to two parking bays empty. Filling your limited holding bays with mismatched vehicles causes irreversible gridlock.

Priority Order for Clearing the Grid

Level 201 packs large buses and small cars tightly behind narrow exit lanes. Because inner vehicles are blocked by interlocking horizontal bumpers, prioritize your moves in this order:

  1. Check the front of the passenger line: Look at the first color group in the passenger queue before tapping any vehicle. Passengers only board in sequential order from front to back and cannot skip ahead.
  2. Clear open flankers: Tap unobstructed vehicles along the far left and right edges. Peeling away the outer border opens escape paths for deeper rows.
  3. Dispatch matching buses: Only send a bus forward if its color matches the passengers currently at the front of the line. When matched, passengers board immediately and the bus leaves the board without consuming a holding bay.
  4. Unblock the center column: Move short horizontal cars out of the way once outer room is created, exposing the high-capacity buses trapped in the middle.

Holding Bay Management Rules

Your temporary parking bays serve as holding spots for vehicles that do not match the current passenger group. Mismanaging these slots is the primary cause of failure on this stage.

  • Maintain a buffer: Never fill all your holding bays at once. Keep one or two spots open as a safety cushion for emergency unblocking.
  • Make calculated transfers: Only send a non-matching car into a holding bay if that exact move clears the exit path for a bus that immediately matches the active passenger color.
  • Queue up consecutive colors: If you see blue passengers standing directly behind red passengers, locate both a red and a blue transport on the board. Clearing the red transport boards the front group and immediately promotes the blue group to the boarding dock.

Checking Exit Vectors Before Tapping

Vehicles in Level 201 only drive forward in the direction their front hood is facing. Before committing to a tap, trace the vehicle's line of movement to the exit. If an adjacent bumper or tail light overlaps its path, the vehicle will bounce back into place and waste a move. Trace complete paths from the outer borders inward to dismantle the grid cleanly without spending coins or hints.
