To beat Candy Crush Saga Level 85, focus your moves on breaking the frosting and meringue blockers at the bottom of the board to open the green arrow collection lanes. Ingredients cannot leave the board until the blockers directly above the exit arrows are cleared. Once an exit path is open, detonate vertical striped candies in that column to drop cherries and hazelnuts straight through to the bottom.

Board Mechanics and Exit Restrictions

Level 85 requires you to collect all required ingredients within a limited move count while reaching at least the one-star score threshold. The board features divided columns with multi-layered blockers resting across the lower rows.

Keep these mechanics in mind before making each turn:

  • Collection arrows: Ingredients exit only through designated green arrow drop zones at the base of specific columns. A column without an exit arrow will trap any ingredient that lands in it.
  • Blocker layers: Multi-layered frosting and meringue prevent ingredients from falling into the exit tiles. You must dismantle these obstacles before pieces can slide down naturally.
  • Ingredient spawns: Subsequent ingredients enter the board only after existing pieces drop or after a set turn threshold. Matching low clears the board space needed to receive new pieces without stalling.

Move Priority Order

Matches made near the top of the board shuffle candies without damaging the obstacles that keep ingredients trapped. Focus your moves on the lowest accessible rows to hit bottom blockers directly and trigger cascades from above.

Priority TierTargetPurpose
Priority 1Lower frosting over green drop arrowsClears the final obstruction so ingredients exit immediately
Priority 2Horizontal matches directly beneath ingredientsDrops the ingredient down one to two rows into active drop columns
Priority 3Mid-board setups for Striped or Wrapped candiesPrepares multi-row clearing blasts to strip dense blockers
Low PriorityTop-row standard three-candy matchesConsumes turns without clearing bottom blockers or moving ingredients

Standard three-candy matches cannot break enough blocker layers before your moves run out. Build and align special candies to clear full lanes and multiple blocker tiers:

  • Vertical Striped Candy: Craft this by matching four candies horizontally. When detonated in the same column as an ingredient, it cuts through regular candies and single-layer blockers below, dropping the ingredient directly onto the exit arrow.
  • Color Bomb + Striped Candy: Combining a Color Bomb with a Striped Candy turns all matching colored candies across the board into striped candies and detonates them immediately. This clears residual bottom blockers and advances ingredients across multiple columns at once.
  • Wrapped Candy + Striped Candy: Combining a Wrapped Candy with a Striped Candy creates a three-row by three-column clearing cross. Use this combo near divided sections to strip multi-layered meringue away from several lanes in a single move.

Rescuing Trapped Ingredients

Ingredients can drift into dead zones, such as columns lacking a green collection arrow or lanes blocked by solid barriers. An ingredient stuck in a non-exit column cannot be cleared with a vertical striped candy.

To redirect a stranded ingredient:

  1. Check whether adjacent columns have clear, open exit lanes at the bottom.
  2. Clear the lower tiles in the target exit lane before moving the ingredient sideways.
  3. Make a horizontal match in the row beside the ingredient to swap it into the active exit column.
  4. Avoid spending turns forcing sideways swaps into adjacent lanes that remain clogged with multi-layered frosting.

Once an ingredient is aligned directly above an open exit arrow, detonate a vertical stripe or match the candies beneath it to complete the drop.
