To solve Level 38 in CubeAway, clear the unobstructed exterior arrows on the two vertical towers before attempting to clear the central gap or the horizontal base. In this U-shaped stage, blocks on the twin towers block the escape paths across the interior gap, and the towers sit directly on top of the foundation bridge. Tapping inward or upward pieces prematurely causes collisions.
---
Step 1: Strip the Outer Flanks and Peaks
Rotate the puzzle to view each tower from its outer edge. The exterior surfaces have zero obstacles blocking their outward trajectories.
Remove these blocks first:
- Tower Peaks: Tap the blocks pointing straight up from the top of each spire.
- External Lateral Flanks: Tap the blocks on the far left of the first tower pointing left, and the blocks on the far right of the second tower pointing right.
- Rear Spine Arrows: Rotate the structure 180 degrees to clear any arrows pointing directly backward into open space.
Peeling away these outer layers reveals the orientation of the inner core blocks and removes visual obstruction.
---
Step 2: Asymmetrically Lower One Tower
Once the outer shells are gone, the remaining tower blocks mostly face inward toward the opposing spire. Because the opposing tower stands directly in their flight path, tapping inward arrows immediately will cause collisions.
To create an escape corridor:
- Choose one tower to dismantle first.
- Clear any remaining upward, downward, or rear-facing arrows on that chosen tower to reduce its height.
- Once the target tower drops below the height of the opposite tower, switch focus to the taller tower.
- Tap the high-tier inward arrows on the taller tower. With the first tower lowered, these arrows will fly across the central gap over the shortened stump without colliding.
- Work downward on both columns alternately as clearance opens up.
---
Step 3: Clear the Foundation and Connecting Bridge
The horizontal base connecting the two towers contains the tightest cluster of interlocking arrows. Many pieces here point upward directly into the roots of the towers or horizontally through the base.
| Section | Arrow Direction | Clearance Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tower Peaks | Upward and outward | Clear immediately at the start of the stage |
| Tower Inner Walls | Horizontal (facing inward) | Opposing tower must be lowered below the arrow's height |
| Bridge Junctions | Upward | Tower column directly above must be completely cleared |
| Bottom Foundation | Downward and lateral | Clear after tower weight and side tension are eliminated |
Do not tap bridge blocks pointing upward while any tower blocks remain above them. Once both towers are completely depopulated down to the foundation:
- Rotate the camera vertically to inspect the underside of the puzzle.
- Tap the downward-facing arrows along the bottom floor.
- Tap the remaining lateral bridge arrows to clear the stage.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
The tips are practical and easy to follow.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
