Every choice you make during character creation in Eternium—including your class archetype, gender model, face preset, skin tone, hair style, hair color, and character name—is permanent once confirmed. Eternium does not offer an in-game barbershop, transmogrification NPC, or character-editing feature after you leave the creation screen. If you decide to change your class or visual appearance later, your only options are deleting the character from your roster or spending gems to unlock an additional hero slot.
To avoid wasting hero slots or restarting after investing time into a campaign, finalize your combat playstyle and inspect your cosmetic choices thoroughly before entering the opening tutorial.
Selecting Your Class Archetype
Your class choice determines the weapons you can equip, your active skill kit, and how you engage enemies throughout the campaign. Eternium features three distinct classes:
- Warrior: A resilient melee combatant suited for direct engagements. Warriors wear heavy plate armor and wield either sword-and-shield combinations or dual blades. The class relies on high base defense, forgiving survivability stats, and gap-closing tools such as leap attacks and charges. Choose the Warrior if you prefer close-quarters combat and straightforward positioning.
- Mage: A ranged elemental caster equipped with cloth robes and staves. Mages excel at wide area-of-effect spells, crowd control, and freeze mechanics. Because Mages have lower baseline armor, survival depends on active movement and zoning to keep mobs from reaching melee range.
- Bounty Hunter: An agile ranged archetype wielding dual pistols and wearing light leather gear. Bounty Hunters rely on high attack speeds, traps, and focused single-target burst damage. The class requires continuous repositioning and precise targeting to avoid incoming damage while maintaining steady offensive pressure.
Because class assignments are bound to individual characters, you cannot switch classes on an existing hero. Testing another combat archetype requires starting a new hero slot.
Appearance Options and Model Silhouettes
After selecting a class, you configure your hero's appearance using discrete visual presets. None of the cosmetic choices provide combat stats or gameplay advantages.
- Gender: Each class offers male and female models. The selection alters character height, shoulder width, and how armor fits over the character model. For example, male Warriors display broader plate armor silhouettes, whereas female Warriors feature sleeker armor profiles.
- Head and Face Presets: Cycle through facial mesh options to select jawline shape, facial features, and idle expressions.
- Skin Tone: Adjust skin pigmentation using preset swatches or a gradient palette ranging from pale tones to deep complexions.
- Hair Style: Select from short crops, buzzed cuts, ponytails, or longer flowing hairstyles. Shorter hair remains clearly visible beneath open-faced helmets, while long hair extends over chest armor.
- Hair Color: Pick from natural tones—such as black, dark brown, blonde, and auburn—as well as stylized shades and aged silver-white.
PC Creator Controls and Model Inspection
The PC version of Eternium lets you inspect your hero model in full 360-degree rotation prior to finalizing creation. Click and hold the left mouse button while dragging across the character model to rotate it.
Use rotation to check how hairstyles seat against the back of the head, how coats and robes drape over equipment, and how weapon sheaths align with the character's hips and back. Lighting on high-resolution PC monitors reveals texture seams and color contrasts more sharply than mobile screens, making pre-game inspection useful for catching unwanted clipping or mismatched hair tones.
Once satisfied with your character's visual design, enter your preferred name into the text box beneath the customization menu. Eternium requires unique alphanumeric names. Verify spelling before clicking confirm, as your hero's name appears on all profile tracking and leaderboard records.
Customization Permanence and Roster Rules
Review the persistence of each creation choice before locking in your hero:
| Decision | Modifiable Later? | Gameplay Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Class | No | Determines all weapon options, active abilities, and combat range. |
| Gender | No | Changes model geometry, armor fitting, and vocal audio. |
| Face Preset | No | Alters facial structure in menus and cutscenes; purely visual. |
| Skin Tone | No | Purely visual. |
| Hair Style & Color | No | Purely visual; visible under open helmets. |
| Hero Name | Restricted | Identifies the character on leaderboards and character select. |
Recommended Next Action for New Heroes
If you are testing how an archetype feels in early combat or checking how an armor set looks during actual gameplay, avoid opening non-refundable promotional mail or depositing premium account resources on that character. Play through the opening stages first. If you dislike the class mechanics or visual choices, return to the main menu and delete the hero immediately without losing limited items or gem-funded roster slots.

This guide answered the exact question I had.
Can you add more details about heroes in a future update?
