To craft a Level 70 legendary sword in Eternium, visit the town blacksmith, select the one-handed sword recipe, and choose your four stat affixes before committing your materials. Wait until your character reaches Level 70 before crafting so the weapon rolls within the highest base damage and stat scaling brackets.

Required Crafting Materials

Forging a legendary weapon requires a substantial stockpile of materials gathered from story bosses, Trials, and salvaged gear:

  • Marks of the Titan: Rare crafting tokens dropped by bosses.
  • Refined Essences: Elemental crafting components gathered from Trials and by salvaging high-rarity equipment.
  • Iron and Mithril Ingots: Standard metals recovered by salvaging unused weapons and armor.
  • Gold: Standard currency required to pay the blacksmith fee.

Because Marks of the Titan and refined essences require extensive farming, avoid spending them on lower-level weapons during the leveling campaign.

Selecting Four Stat Affixes

The blacksmith interface lets you manually select all four stat affixes on a legendary weapon. For weapon-focused damage dealers such as Warriors, offensive affixes that multiply each other provide the highest damage increase.

  • Power: Increases your flat damage across standard attacks and active skills.
  • Critical Rating: Increases your chance to score a critical strike.
  • Critical Damage: Increases the bonus damage dealt on critical hits.
  • Haste or Ability Rate: Haste increases attack speed to trigger on-hit effects faster, while Ability Rate lowers skill cooldowns.

Always pair Critical Rating with Critical Damage. Choosing Critical Damage without high Critical Rating wastes the multiplier, while Critical Rating without Critical Damage limits your burst potential.

Defensive Options

If your character cannot survive incoming damage in higher Trials, you can replace Haste or Ability Rate with Vitality or Life on Hit. However, this lowers your weapon's maximum damage potential. Weapons and off-hands provide your largest offensive stat concentrations, while armor pieces like chests, pants, and boots typically handle health and survivability.

Crafting Determinants and Damage Variance

When you press the craft button, the game locks in your selected affixes, but rolls the item's flat damage and stat amounts within a random range.

Rolled Stat ValuesRolled within Level 70 quality boundsRandom (RNG)

Because flat weapon damage rolls within a bracket, two swords crafted with identical stats can have different damage-per-second values. If your roll lands near the lower threshold, keep it as an upgrade over Epic weapons, then stockpile resources for another attempt.

Evaluating the Forged Sword

Inspect the finished sword in your inventory to determine its quality:

  1. Compare Base Damage: Check the flat weapon damage number against your currently equipped weapon. Flat weapon damage scales every ability.
  2. Review Stat Brackets: Check if your four selected affixes rolled near the top or bottom of their numerical ranges.
  3. Account for Sockets: Do not judge the sword solely by sheet DPS if your old weapon contains gemstones. An un-socketed sword may show lower initial numbers until filled.

Adding Sockets and Gemstones

To maximize the weapon's damage after a successful forge, open any missing sockets through the inventory interface and insert high-grade gems:

  • Rubies: The standard choice for weapons. High-tier Rubies (Trilliant or higher) provide massive flat Power.
  • Emeralds: Slot for Haste if your build depends on reaching specific attack speed thresholds.
  • Topazes: Slot for Ability Rate if your build requires lower skill cooldowns to maintain rotations.
