To get Whirlwind Tornadoes early during an Eternium A New Beginning (ANB) event, craft and equip two pieces of the Fury armor set as soon as the crafting bench unlocks around character level 19 to 25. The two-piece Fury set bonus automatically spawns tracking Tornadoes whenever you cast Whirlwind. This bypasses the standard requirement of researching Whirlwind to Rank 10, saving your limited active event timer and eliminating the need to spend gems rushing skill training queues.

The only prerequisite is having the Fury set crafting recipes previously unlocked with Glory on your main account.

Bypassing the Whirlwind Rank 10 Research Timer

During timed ANB events, active countdown timers range from 6 to 12 hours across Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers. Training Whirlwind from Rank 1 to Rank 10 naturally takes multiple hours of real-world research time, which quickly exhausts an event timer if you rely on unboosted Whirlwind to clear mobs.

Set bonuses in Eternium activate regardless of item level or rarity. You do not need endgame Level 70 Legendary gear to get the effect; two low-level Uncommon (green) or Rare (blue) Fury pieces—such as a Helm and Shoulders, or Chest and Pants—immediately enable Tornado generation.

Active Skill Bar and Rotation

Once your two-piece set is equipped, build your skill loadout to pull packs continuously without stopping:

  • Whirlwind: Your primary grouping tool. Casting Whirlwind spawns Tornadoes that track nearby targets and pull ranged enemies, such as archers and casters, directly into melee range.
  • Frenzy: Use as your primary attack to rapidly build Attack Speed and generate fury between ability cooldowns.
  • Shockwave: Cast immediately after gathering a pack with Whirlwind. Shockwave stuns and bursts elite units while the active Tornadoes shred weaker trash mobs.
  • Leap or Charge: Slot for mobility to bridge gaps between distant packs. Leap provides a brief impact stun that protects your character during the initial Whirlwind startup.

When running through corridors or Trial maps, never stand in place waiting for enemies to die. Cast Whirlwind to spawn the Tornadoes, then drag them forward into the next encounter while the lingering vortex finishes off damaged mobs behind you.

Stat Priorities and Companions

To maximize experience yield during your active ANB play timer, prioritize the following stats when crafting low-level Fury gear and rare jewelry:

  1. Experience (EXP): Roll an EXP bonus on every gear slot and jewelry piece to minimize the total runs required to hit milestones.
  2. Movement Speed: Roll Movement Speed on Boots and Pants to allow your hero and Tornadoes to cover ground faster.
  3. Haste and Critical Rating: Attack speed speeds up cast animations and fury generation, smoothing out skill cycling.

For your companion slot, recruit Eileen the Priestess as early as possible. Her Vortex ability pulls entire rooms into a tight cluster. Dropping Whirlwind and its set-spawned Tornadoes directly onto Eileen's Vortex groups clears full waves instantly while mitigating incoming projectile damage.

Leveling Route and Gear Upgrades

Avoid running story acts once your two-piece Fury bonus is active. Story chapters feature unskippable dialogue and low mob density that waste valuable event minutes.

Instead, enter the Trial system immediately:

  1. Farm low-tier Trials (Trials 1 through 15), aiming for clear times between 60 and 90 seconds per run.
  2. If a Trial clear takes longer than two minutes, lower the Trial level by two or three tiers to maintain kill speed and experience efficiency.
  3. Re-craft your two Fury pieces every 15 to 20 levels using cheap materials to keep your base Armor and Damage scaled to enemy health.
  4. Continue this Trial farming loop until you reach level 70, at which point you can transition into your targeted endgame set and push higher Trial tiers.
