To win the Battle of Constantinople (BOC) in Evony, your alliance must prioritize capturing and reinforcing high-point central structures while executing coordinated rallies against exposed enemy keeps. Securing the center early forces the opposing alliance to burn teleports and stamina to contest established garrisons, giving your team point leverage and map control.

Map Structure Priorities

Not all buildings yield equal value. Focusing resources on peripheral sites while conceding the center leads to an insurmountable point deficit. Send fast cavalry marches to grab peripheral structures during the opening seconds, then funnel primary defensive forces into Central Constantinople and the nearest Knight's Hall.

StructurePoint PriorityStrategic Function
Central ConstantinopleCritical (Highest)Maximizes continuous point generation and gives broad map vision.
Knight's HallHighGenerates heavy points and supports forward offensive marches.

Holding Wharfs or Hospitals provides helpful combat bonuses, but their point output cannot offset losing the central strongholds. Force the opposing team to march against entrenched garrisons at the center, draining their operational clock and exposing their marching castles to counter-rallies.

Executing Coordinated Rallies

Solo attacks against fortified keeps consistently fail against prepared alliances. High-impact offensive strikes rely on short-timer alliance rallies directed by leaders with high offensive general stats and large march capacities.

  • Match Troop Types to Defenses: Scout the target keep before committing. If the defender holds a heavy ground defense, lead with a ranged rally. If the defense is mounted-heavy, counter with ranged or ground units based on the defender's wall general debuffs.
  • Require Troop Layering: Every participating member must include troop layers of 100 to 1,000 troops per tier beneath the rally leader’s primary troop type. These layers absorb damage rounds, protecting top-tier strike units from early elimination.
  • Time Follow-Up Hits: Launch fast secondary marches or deceptive fake rallies immediately behind the main impact. If the primary strike breaks the castle's frontline, subsequent hits wipe the unhealed remnants before reinforcements arrive.

Rally leads should call targets and timing in alliance chat or voice channels to prevent isolated attacks that donate easy points to the opponent.

Defense and Garrison Reinforcement

Leaving a captured building manned by a single march leaves it open to a solo wipe or a quick two-man attack. As soon as a runner captures a building, designated defensive anchors must fill the structure to maximum capacity.

When defending castles under pressure:

  1. Evaluate Defense Capacity: If an unbubbled player cannot ghost their troops or survive the incoming rally march, they must teleport to safe coordinates immediately. Blindly reinforcing a fragile keep that lacks proper defensive debuffs results in heavy point losses.
  2. Set the Wall General: Ensure the defending castle's strongest wall general is active before incoming hits land.
  3. Send Counter Reinforcements: Reinforcing allies should prioritize high-tier ground and siege units to withstand standard offensive march compositions.

Managing Teleport Economy and Troop Attrition

Advanced teleports are a finite battlefield resource. Reserve them strictly for positioning offensive rallies, dodging incoming rallies, or contesting critical buildings in the match's closing minutes. Use map portals for routine cross-map movement.

Battlefield healing consumes battlefield gems or healing timers rather than permanent resource reserves, but exhausting your battlefield healing capacity removes you from active combat. To preserve troops when enemy rally leaders are nearby, ghost your main offensive marches onto distant monster bosses or alliance rally targets. This keeps your primary strike force intact for scheduled objectives.

Late-Game Point Denial

During the final phase of the match, shift from active offensive engagements to strict point denial if your alliance holds the lead.

  • Consolidate Positions: Recall marches from isolated, low-value nodes to prevent the opponent from picking up easy solo points.
  • Cluster Castles: Relocate allied keeps into tight defensive formations around controlled buildings.
  • Time Garrison Pulls: If the opposing alliance launches a desperate full-team rally against your central garrison, verify the scoreboard. If the remaining points guarantee victory regardless of who holds the building, withdraw your defenders immediately before impact to deny the opponent offensive kill points while letting the clock expire.
