To win matches in Evony Glory Arena, focus entirely on winning two out of the three combat rounds. Glory Arena uses a best-of-three format where overall match victories do not depend on total point margins, power differentials, or casualty counts across all rounds. Spreading your best gear, generals, and beasts evenly across three squads dilutes your combat power and creates three average teams. Instead, consolidate your highest buffs into two dominant marches and field an unsupported sacrificial unit in the remaining slot.

Concentrating Power into Two Marches

Select the two troop types where you have developed the highest individual research, gear, and general buffs. Most players build one specialized ranged march and one elite mounted march, though developed ground or siege marches work if your stats favor them.

Direct all high-tier combat investments exclusively to these two formations:

  • Spiritual Beasts and Dragons: Equip your highest-level dragons and top-tier spiritual beasts strictly on your two scoring marches. Leave the third march with an unranked beast or no beast at all.
  • Refined Equipment: Place your refined Ares, Achaemenidae, or Civilization gear on the main generals leading your two primary marches. Never split refined sets across three generals to make a third squad competitive.
  • Assistants and Covenants: Pair fully ascended assistant generals, optimal Covenant pairings, and primary combat skill books onto your two chosen teams to maximize attack, defense, and HP multipliers.

Deploying the Sacrificial Round

Your third formation requires minimal investment. Developing a third competitive march consumes substantial materials, research, and gear refinements that yield better returns when concentrated on your top two teams.

Field a basic march or an unequipped general in this slot to satisfy the deployment requirement. Do not assign sub-city debuffs, active talent configurations, or high-grade monarch gear to support this team. Accepting an intentional loss in one round ensures your combat power remains concentrated where it can win.

Scouting and Lineup Positioning

Securing two round victories requires positioning your marches against the correct opponent slots. Inspect your target's defense history or visible lineup order before initiating a challenge.

Neutralizing the Opponent's Strongest Unit

Glory Arena follows standard combat interactions:

  • Ranged counters Mounted
  • Mounted counters Ground
  • Ground counters Ranged

Identify the enemy's highest-power squad. If an opponent places an overwhelming mounted march in Slot 1, position your sacrificial march in Slot 1. The sacrificial unit absorbs their strongest formation, clearing your two primary marches to face their weaker secondary and tertiary slots.

Aligning Favorable Troop Matchups

Position your two scoring squads where they hold a natural type advantage:

  • Direct your ranged squad against their mounted units.
  • Direct your ground squad against their ranged units.
  • Direct your mounted squad against their ground units.

Avoid matching your primary damage dealers directly into an opponent's natural counter unless your raw stat advantage is large enough to overcome the disadvantage.

Pre-Battle Buffs and Monarch Adjustments

Because your setup relies on two specific troop disciplines, tailor temporary boosts directly to those unit types:

  1. Monarch Gear and Talents: Align your Monarch Gear and active talents strictly with the attack and march size attributes of your two primary troop types.
  2. Consumable Boosts: Activate 24-hour attack and defense consumables prior to using your challenge attempts.

Focusing your preparations on two disciplines maximizes your offensive strength per ticket and produces consistent 2–1 match results.
