To hit a 6,000 score in the Evony Battle of Gaugamela (BOG) event, add multi-tier troop layers to your combat marches instead of sending single-tier armies. Including low-tier buffer units (such as T1 and T5) and intermediate units (T10 through T12) forces incoming attack damage onto lower-value troops. This structure preserves your high-tier damage core across multiple combat rounds, maintaining your march strength so you can keep scoring points throughout the event.
How Troop Layering Protects Marches
In Evony player-versus-player combat, marches containing only high-tier units act as glass cannons. When an enemy rally or direct attack strikes an unlayered force, all incoming damage lands immediately on your main strike units. This results in heavy power losses, rapid march depletion, and early elimination from the battlefield.
Layering builds a damage buffer that absorbs incoming damage across tiers:
- T1 and T5 Units: Act as your initial defensive layer, absorbing early strike volume at negligible retraining costs.
- T10 to T12 Units: Serve as intermediate buffer zones that dilute incoming damage before it reaches your strongest forces.
- T14 and T15 Units: Form your high-tier core, dealing primary damage while remaining protected behind lower layers.
This distribution prevents enemy hits from inflicting overkill damage on your elite troops, extending the operational life of your marches during BOG rotations.
Preparing and Managing BOG Troop Layers
- Construct Multi-Tier Marches: Avoid deploying full marches composed solely of your highest available tier. Include smaller padding increments across all intermediate tiers down to T1.
- Track Hospital Space: Monitor your medical capacity closely between combat engagements. Excessive low-tier losses can fill hospital queues quickly, leaving no room to heal high-tier units if they take damage. Balance your low-tier buffer volume to prevent hospital overflows.
- Replenish Layers Between Rounds: Check your tier counts after every battle round. If enemy attacks clear out your T1 through T5 buffer troops, train or redeploy replacement layers before launching your next march.

I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The tips are practical and easy to follow.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
