In the Defeat Enemy Troops stage of the Evony Monarch Competition, points are earned by inflicting casualties on non-allied player armies. The scoring system registers both wounded and killed units, scaling point rewards exponentially based on the tier of the defeated troops.

How Wounded and Defeated Units Score

Evony counts any troop knocked out of battle as a casualty for event scoring. Defending units sent to the hospital and attacking units routed from the field both award full points to the opposing player.

  • Hospital Capacity Does Not Limit Points: Hitting an enemy with empty hospital beds awards the exact same points per unit as hitting a player whose hospital is completely full. You do not need to permanently kill troops or burn an enemy keep to score.
  • Mutual Scoring: Point generation applies symmetrically. Any casualties your own attacking or defending march sustains will award event points directly to your opponent.

Troop Tier Point Yields

Points scale steeply by troop tier. Eliminating low-tier soldiers yields negligible score relative to the stamina and troop losses incurred, while defeating high-tier units generates substantial leaderboard progress.

Troop Tier RangePoint YieldStrategic Value
Tier 1–4Extremely LowInefficient; avoid targeting Tier 1 defense walls
Tier 5–9Low to ModerateMinor incidental points during standard attacks
Tier 10–11ModerateBaseline targets for positive trades
Tier 12–13HighStandard targets for competitive scoring
Tier 14–15MaximumHighest-value targets for climbing leaderboard ranks

Always scout targets before launching an attack. Striking a player with millions of Tier 1 mounted units will inflate defeated unit counts while yielding almost no event score. Prioritize targets with concentrated Tier 12 through Tier 15 ranged, ground, mounted, or siege units.

Valid vs. Invalid Targets

Points register only during PvP engagements against players outside your alliance:

  • Resource Tiles: Attacking an enemy gathering march on a resource tile awards full tier-based points for every gathering unit wounded or killed. Because gathering marches often lack wall defense buffs, tile hits provide high-tier points with minimal risk of heavy casualties.
  • Player-Owned Subordinate Cities: Defeating garrisoned troops, stationed mayors, or linked subordinate city reinforcements during keep attacks awards standard points.
  • Neutral NPC Subordinate Cities: Attacking unowned, neutral subordinate cities on the map awards zero event points.
  • Monsters and Barbarians: Defeating world bosses, regular monsters, and barbarian camps does not count toward stage progress.
  • Alliance Members: Attacks against players within your own alliance do not generate event score.

To maximize your score while preventing opponents from scoring off your city, follow this sequence during the event:

  1. Activate a Peace Shield: Keep a 24-hour Peace Shield on your main keep throughout the stage. If you are hit offline, an attacker can gain tens of millions of points from your defense garrison.
  2. Scan High-Level Resource Tiles: Search the map for enemy gatherers using Tier 11 to Tier 13 troops. Striking unprotected gathering marches is the safest method to secure efficient trades.
  3. Scout Unbubbled Keeps: Check troop tier distributions before attacking. Abort attacks against cities stacked with massive low-tier meat shields and advance only on high-tier troop concentrations.
  4. Manage Subordinate Cities: If you expect to defend without a shield, unlink your subordinate cities so their garrisons do not join the battle and feed extra points to the attacker.
