To clear Gardenscapes levels 956 through 960, focus on making matches near the bottom of each board to trigger automatic cascades, and pair adjacent power-ups to clear heavy blockers quickly. Each board introduces obstacles like crates, soil, chains, water streams, or split sections that restrict piece movement if not cleared early.
Level 956: Clearing Lemonade Drop Columns
The goal of Level 956 is to drop every lemonade glass onto the collection tiles along the bottom border. Obstacles in the center columns block incoming pieces and stall drops immediately.
- Target the central lanes first: Direct your opening moves at the wooden crates and obstacles situated directly under the lemonade spawn points. Clearing the perimeter does not help advance the glasses.
- Avoid non-impact side matches: Ignore three-piece matches on the outer edges if they do not hit a blocker, break a chain, or pull a glass downward.
- Align vertical Rockets: Create vertical four-piece matches within the drop columns. A single vertical Rocket clears an entire lane and drops a lemonade glass straight to the bottom exit tile.
- Keep bottom tiles clear: Clear debris from the bottom two rows early so pieces can flow freely beneath the glasses and avoid late-stage stalls.
Level 957: Excavating Buried Gnomes
Level 957 requires uncovering hidden garden gnomes buried beneath layers of grass and dark soil. Because gnomes take up multiple tiles, single-tile clearing moves are inefficient.
Work in the lowest available rows. Clearing soil removes static blockers and causes falling pieces to trigger cascade matches above, often clearing upper turf automatically without extra turns. Prioritize creating Bombs and Dynamite rather than isolated Firecrackers, which lack the coverage needed for multi-tile obstacles.
| Power-Up | Match Requirement | Blast Radius | Best Use on Level 957 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Firecracker | 4 pieces | Cross shape, 1 tile | Chipping the final edge of an exposed gnome |
| Bomb | 5 pieces (T- or L-shape) | 2-tile square | Clearing overlapping layers of dense soil |
| Dynamite | 6 pieces (cluster) | 3-tile square | Opening large bottom sections of the board |
| Rainbow Blast | Charged meter | Clears one piece color | Generating broad secondary cascade matches |
Level 958: Unlocking Chained Tile Bottlenecks
Level 958 partitions the board and restricts movement with chains. Pieces locked in chains cannot fall, shift, or swap until struck by an adjacent match or an explosive.
- Clear single-chained links in the center column: Focus your initial turns on the middle lane. Freeing single chains first lets new pieces refill the lower board area quickly.
- Open space before targeting double chains: Once pieces flow into the bottom half of the board, your matching options expand significantly.
- Combine adjacent explosives: Avoid detonating individual Firecrackers or Rockets against double-chained tiles, as one blast only chips a single layer. Combine a Rocket with a Bomb to blast through both layers at once and fully reopen piece flow.
Level 959: Managing Water Stream Drift and Crates
Level 959 features dynamic stream lanes alongside multi-layer crates guarding target items. The moving stream shifts piece positions at the end of every turn.
Account for stream drift before setting up power-ups. A planned five-piece match can break apart if one of the tiles rides the conveyor into an adjacent column before you can trigger it. When possible, build power-ups on stationary tiles adjacent to the current.
Fire horizontal Rockets across the stream corridor to hit multiple multi-layer crates in a single move. Once crates are broken, the moving stream recycles pieces naturally, creating automatic cascades that quickly recharge your Rainbow Blast meter.
Level 960: Navigating Split-Quadrant Boards
Level 960 divides the board into separate quadrants, preventing pieces from falling naturally between compartments.
- Blast across borders: Fire horizontal and vertical Rockets from one quadrant into adjacent compartments to damage obstacles where you lack immediate matching moves.
- Charge the Rainbow Blast early: Small, isolated sectors limit standard three-piece matches. Detonate compact explosives quickly to charge the Rainbow Blast and reset restrictive board states.
- Combine Rainbow Blasts with explosives: Swapping a Rainbow Blast with an explosive converts all pieces of that color across the board into matching explosives, clearing blockers in every quadrant simultaneously.
- Reserve moves for isolated corners: Finish three quadrants as cleanly as possible and retain at least five moves to systematically clear the final quadrant's remaining target items.

I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Gardenscapes articles next.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
