To clear Wave 65 in Gear Defenders Endless Mode, transition your field from broad coverage to concentrated kill zones. Place slowing and crowd control units at front-line intersections, layer high-damage long-range turrets in the back, and upgrade established core turrets rather than placing low-level new units.
Turret Placement and Kill Zone Setup
Defeating the large enemy clusters at Wave 65 requires deliberate placement along enemy pathing lanes:
- Front-line intersections: Position slowing and crowd control turrets where pathing lines meet. Stopping enemy groups early creates dense targets for your damage units.
- Back-line tiles: Place long-range turrets toward the rear of the map so they maintain line-of-sight across the entire path.
- Overlapping single-target fire: Position armor-piercing and high single-target turrets within the range of your front-line slowing effects. Trapping heavily armored units inside these slow zones gives high-damage turrets enough time to destroy them.
Staggering Hero Abilities
Turret fire alone may not prevent breaches when high-health mobs push through your defense. Use hero abilities as a manual safety net:
- Space out ability usage: Do not trigger every hero ability at once. Stagger stuns and movement-slowing skills to maintain continuous control over the battlefield.
- Hold crowd control for emergencies: Save your strongest stuns for when elite mobs or large groups bypass your initial slowing perimeter.
Resource Management and Targeted Upgrades
As enemy health scales in the mid-sixties, low-level turrets lose effectiveness. Allocate resources efficiently to hold your perimeter:
- Focus on high-tier upgrades: Spend currency to upgrade existing, well-placed turrets rather than building low-tier units that lack effective damage output.
- Hold an emergency currency reserve: Keep a small buffer of funds during combat to apply instant upgrades if a lane begins to buckle.
- Fix weak lanes directly: If one path is consistently breached, apply upgrades directly to the turrets covering that route instead of upgrading the entire field evenly.

Nice guide. I am checking the other Gear Defenders articles next.
This helped me understand heroes much better.
Can you add more details about heroes in a future update?
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
