The setting gives each run a clear purpose, while the dungeon structure keeps the focus on moment-to-moment survival and the decisions required to make it to the boss.

The main Story mode offers hundreds of challenging dungeons across mysterious and deadly worlds, making exploration a matter of steadily working through Chimera 5 rather than simply completing one fixed stage. Survival mode changes the objective by placing you against huge hordes of monsters, with unique rewards tied to how long you can withstand the pressure. Combat is built around a broad arsenal: sniper guns can support careful attacks from a distance, machine guns and assault guns offer more sustained fire, laser guns provide another way to cut through enemies, and bazooka guns are available when explosive force is the better answer. The game also encourages you to hold on to unusual discoveries, since a special gun may be worth keeping as you build a stronger collection. A pet can also accompany you, giving help during difficult situations and adding another consideration to how you approach dangerous dungeons. On PC, the larger display makes it easier to read the battlefield while tracking incoming monsters, identify targets during crowded fights, and compare the weapons, skills, and legendary gear that shape your build. Keyboard-and-mouse input is also well suited to repeated combat actions: you can move, aim, and switch attention between threats with more direct control, which matters when a dungeon fills with enemies or when Survival mode surrounds you with huge hordes.
