In Hearthstone Battlegrounds, piloting Shudderwock with a Golden Brann Bronzebeard requires using your Hero Power on resource-generating Battlecries early, managing strict hand limits, and converting card generation into high-stat combat units before the final rounds.

Golden Brann triples every Battlecry trigger. When you target a friendly minion with Shudderwock’s Hero Power, Snicker-snack, that Battlecry triggers three times in addition to any hand-play triggers.

How the Multiplier Works

Playing a Battlecry minion from your hand while Golden Brann is on board triggers its effect three times. Targeting that same minion with Snicker-snack triggers the Battlecry three more times. This yields six total activations from a single minion in one turn.

Because the multiplier scales generation exponentially, buying card-generating or gold-refunding Battlecries early refunds your tavern spending and fills your hand with potential triples.

Battlecry Targets by Phase

Do not spend Snicker-snack on minor stat buffs during the setup phase. Prioritize resource creation to fuel your turns, then switch to raw combat stats once your tavern tier allows high-tier scaling.

Managing Hand Space and Action Sequence

The primary failure point of this build is burning cards due to the 10-card hand limit. Discovering or generating three to six cards in rapid succession will lock your hand, preventing you from buying minions from the tavern or collecting triples.

Follow this sequence each turn:

  1. Clear existing cards: Sell lingering bench units and play banked tavern spells before playing generators. Never activate a triple-generation Battlecry if you hold more than six cards.
  2. Leave one open board slot: Keep your permanent warband at six units. You need the seventh slot free to cycle Battlecry minions without selling key pieces during animations.
  3. Play the generator from hand: Place the unit in your open slot and resolve its three natural triggers.
  4. Evaluate your hand space: Check your hand size before using your Hero Power. If you have eight or more cards, play or sell cards to make room before pressing Snicker-snack.
  5. Hero Power the generator: Trigger the minion's effect three more times with Snicker-snack.
  6. Pick discoveries immediately: Choose discovered cards based on immediate board impact or gold resale to keep animations moving and preserve turn time.

Transitioning to the Endgame Warband

Infinite card generation does not win late-game combats on its own. Utility minions and a Golden Brann leave your board vulnerable to high-stat opponents if you fail to convert cards into protected threats.

When three or fewer players remain, stop cycling for pure economy. Direct your Battlecry buffs onto high-value combat targets such as Cleave minions or Divine Shield units. Use discovered triples to secure tech pieces like Leeroy the Reckless or Transmuted Bramblewitch.

On the final turn, evaluate whether Golden Brann still provides value. If your warband is fully buffed, sell Brann to field a final combat minion or dedicated tech counter.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Hero Powering too early: Do not use Snicker-snack at the start of your turn. Roll the tavern and play your shop minions first. Using the Hero Power early locks your gold away if you find a superior target later in the shop.
  • Hoarding triple rewards: Holding Golden reward cards in hand clogs your hand capacity. Play rewards immediately to take the tempo from higher-tier minions and maintain hand space for incoming generator triggers.
